This document specifies the communication interface, so that the transmitted parameters, signals and objects between a supply system (SS), with power converter/switch (PC/S) and high power interface – master control (HPI-MC) including the tractor implement management (TIM) server, and a consumer system (CS), with application (APP) and high power interface – control (HPI-C) including the TIM client and the task controller, can be used is in the agricultural industry. The mentioned signals are used during identification, initialization, operation, and shutdown modes of operation. This document does not cover the definitions of suspect parameter numbers (SPNs) for the signals, within the parameter group numbers (PGNs) for messages and the message setup. These definitions are given in ISO 11783 and SAE J1939. NOTE For information on messages (PGNs) see also Annex B.

This European Standard specifies safety requirements and their verification for the design and construction of trailers with a tipping body, balanced or semi-mounted, used in agriculture, as defined in 3.1. It includes also hook-lift trailers and trailers with conveyor device as defined in 3.9.
This European Standard does not deal with trailers equipped with pick-up devices and/or rear spreading devices.
Trailers with a load push/push-off device, slats or alternating moving floor may be removed from this standard, provided a new work item on loader wagons and forage transport wagons (prEN ISO 4254-17) is accepted.
This European Standard does not give Required Performance Levels for the identified safety functions.
This European Standard, taken together with EN ISO 4254-1, deals with the significant hazards, hazardous situations and events relevant to agricultural trailers, when they are used as intended and under the conditions of misuse which are reasonably foreseeable by the manufacturer (see Table A.1), excepting the hazards arising from:
- hazards related to conveying devices other than those defined in 3.9.1 and 3.9.2, for example load push/push-off device;
- hazards related to the environment and road safety;
- hazards related to braking.
In addition, it specifies the type of information on safe working practices to be provided by the manufacturer.
This document is not applicable to trailers which are manufactured before the date of its publication as EN.

ISO 789-2:2018 specifies test procedures for determining the lifting capacity of rear-mounted three-point linkage systems: a) the maximum vertical force which can be exerted by the hydraulic lift at the lower hitch points throughout their full range of movement; b) the maximum vertical force which can be exerted by the hydraulic lift, at a point 610 mm to the rear of the hitch points on a frame attached to the three-point linkage, throughout its full range of movement. NOTE 1 A static test provides an adequate comparison between tractors. The test results are used only as a means of comparing tractors and not as a way of recommending the size of an implement which can be carried by the tractor. ISO 20383:2017 specifies the dimensions, characteristics, and positioning of Speed Identification Signs (SIS). These signs indicate the maximum equipment ground speed, based on the ground speed design capability, for an agricultural vehicle. A rear-facing SIS is visible to other operators on public roads approaching the equipment from behind. A forward-facing SIS, mounted on the front of towed equipment, alerts operators of the towing vehicle of the maximum specified ground speed capabilities at which the equipment combination can be operated. ISO 20383:2017 is applicable to self-propelled, semi-integral and towed equipment moving on public roads.

This International Standard specifies, in accordance with ISO 10326-1, a laboratory method for measuring and
evaluating the effectiveness of the suspension of operator seats on agricultural wheeled tractors. It also
specifies acceptance criteria based on the test results, while defining the input spectral classes relating to
three classes of agricultural tractor with rubber tyres, unsprung rear axles and no low-frequency cab
isolation — those of up to 3 600 kg (class 1), those of from 3 600 kg to 6 500 kg (class 2), and those of over
6 500 kg (class 3) — each of which defines a group of machines having similar vibration characteristics.
The method tests the effectiveness of the seat suspension in reducing the vertical whole-body vibration
transmitted to the operator at frequencies of from 1 Hz to 20 Hz. It is not applicable to vibration reaching the
operator other than through the seat (e.g. that sensed by the operator’s feet on the platform or control pedals
or hands on the steering wheel).
NOTE The tests and criteria defined in this International Standard are intended for operator seats used in agricultural
tractors of conventional design. Tractors with design features such as isolated front or rear axles or both and
low-frequency cab suspensions, which result in significantly different vibration characteristics, can be tested in accordance
with ISO 5008 to determine a whole body vibration emission value or using other standards developed for measuring and
evaluating the effectiveness of the seat suspension on such vehicles.
