Standard Specification for Copper-Nickel-Silicon Alloy Rod and Bar

ABSTRACT
This specification establishes the requirements for copper-nickel-silicon alloy rods and bars in straight lengths produced from Copper Alloy UNS No. C64700. The materials for manufacture shall be cast billets or ingots of such soundness and structure as to be suitable for processing by hot extrusion or rolling, and finished by cold working, annealing, cooling, straightening, and precipitation heat treatment to produce finished products that achieve the required properties. Products shall be tested and shall adhere to dimensional (diameter, length, straightness, and edge contour), mechanical (tensile and yield strength, and elongation), electrical resistivity, and chemical composition requirements.
SCOPE
1.1 This specification establishes the requirements for copper-nickel-silicon alloy rod and bar produced from Copper Alloy UNS No. C64700 in straight lengths.
1.2 Units—The values stated in either SI units or inch-pound units are to be regarded separately as standard. The values stated in each system may not be exact equivalents; therefore, each system shall be used independently of the other. Combining values from the two systems may result in non-conformance with the standard.
1.3 This international standard was developed in accordance with internationally recognized principles on standardization established in the Decision on Principles for the Development of International Standards, Guides and Recommendations issued by the World Trade Organization Technical Barriers to Trade (TBT) Committee.
