EN 14651:2005+A1:2007 is the CEN test method for measuring the flexural tensile strength of metallic fibre concrete. The standard prescribes how to test notched, moulded prisms to determine the limit of proportionality (LOP) and a set of residual flexural tensile strength values from load–CMOD (crack mouth opening displacement) or load–deflection curves. It applies to metallic fibres up to 60 mm long and can be used for mixes containing metallic fibres alone or in combination with other fibres.

  • Results: determination of FL (load at LOP), calculation of LOP stress and residual flexural tensile strengths fR,j at defined CMOD/deflection points. The standard specifies how to express and report these results and includes precision information.
