Windows, doors, shutters and blinds - Bullet resistance - Test method

This European Standard specifies a test procedure to permit classification of the bullet resistance of windows, doors, shutters and blinds (complete with their infills).  This European Standard concerns only behavior in respect of the frame of the windows, doors, shutters or blind, their infills and the junctions between the infills and frames.  If the windows and doors are subjected to specific conditions of climate, specific conditions of test may be required. It does not apply to the testing of glass infills. For the testing of glass infills refer to prEN 1063.

Diese Europäische Norm legt das Prüfverfahren zur Klassifizierung der Durchschußhemmung von Fenstern, Türen, zusätzlichen Abschlüssen und Schutzeinrichtungen (einschließlich deren Füllungen) fest.  Diese Europäische Norm betrifft nur das Verhalten der Rahmenkonstruktion von Fenstern, Türen, zusätzlichen Abschlüssen und Schutzeinrichtungen, deren Füllungen und den Anschlußbereich zwischen Füllung und Rahmen. Falls die Fenster und Türen extremen Klimabedingungen ausgesetzt werden, so dürfen diese auch für die Prüfung gefordert werden.

La présente norme européenne spécifie un mode opératoire d'essai permettant la classification de la résistance aux balles des fenêtres, portes, fermetures et stores (et de leurs remplissages).  La présente norme ne concerne que le comportement propre du châssis des fenêtres, portes, fermetures et stores, de leurs remplissages et des liaisons entre remplissages et châssis  Si les fenêtres et les portes sont soumises à des conditions climatiques spécifiques, des conditions spécifiques d'essai peuvent être exigées.  Elle ne s'applique pas à l'essai des remplissages en produits verriers qui relèvent du prEN 1063.

EN 1523:1998 - Windows, doors, shutters and blinds - Bullet resistance - Test method (CEN) specifies a standardized test procedure to permit classification of bullet resistance for complete window, door, shutter and blind assemblies (including their infills).
