Foreword

ISO (the International Organization for Standardization) is a worldwide federation of national

This document was prepared by the European Committee of Standardization (CEN) Technical

Committee CEN/TC 88, Thermal insulating materials and products, in collaboration with ISO Technical

Committee ISO/TC 163, Thermal performance and energy use in the built environment, Subcommittee

SC 1, Test and measurement methods, in accordance with the Agreement on technical cooperation

between ISO and CEN (Vienna Agreement).

This second edition cancels and replaces the first edition (ISO 12628:2011), which has been technically

revised.
The main changes compared to the previous edition are as follows:
— combination of EN 13467:2018 and ISO 12628:2011 in one document;

— Clause 2, Normative References, was added and the numbering of the following clauses was

changed accordingly;

— the terms 3.6, thickness uniformity, and 3.9, circular segment cord, were added;

— new figure 2 was added and the numbering of the following figures was changed accordingly;

— Clause 5.5, For circular segment chord, was added and the numbering of the following clauses was

changed accordingly;

— technical revision, mainly of clause 6, Test specimens, clause 7, Procedure, and clause 8, Calculation

and expression of results;
— editorial revision.

This International Standard is one of a series of standards which specify test methods for determining

dimensions and properties of thermal insulating materials and products. The original EN 13467

supports a series of product standards for thermal insulating materials and products which derive from

the Council Directive of 21 December 1988 on the approximation of laws, regulations and

administrative provisions of the Member States relating to constructive products (Directive

89/106/EEC) through the consideration of the essential requirements.
