This Part of this European Standard specifies a test method for determining the fire resistance of smoke extraction ducts. It is applicable only to smoke extraction ducts that pass through another fire compartment from the fire compartment to be extracted in case of fire. It represents fire exposure of a fully developed fire.

Dieser Teil dieser Europäischen Norm legt ein Prüfverfahren zur Bestimmung der Feuerwiderstandsfähigkeit von Entrauchungsleitungen fest. Dieses Prüfverfahren gilt nur für Entrauchungsleitungen, die von einem Brandabschnitt, aus dem der Rauch im Brandfall abgesaugt werden soll, über einen weiteren Brandabschnitt führen. Es stellt die Brandeinwirkung für einen Vollbrand dar.
Dieses Prüfverfahren gilt nur für feuerwiderstandsfähige Leitungen, die für eine entsprechende Zeitspanne die Prüfung nach EN 1366-1 bestanden haben (Leitungen A und B). Für Leitung A als feuerwiderstandsfähige Entrauchungsleitung gilt, dass der Druck von 300 Pa nach EN 1366-1 bei Prüfung nach EN 1366-1 auf 500 Pa erhöht wird. Für die in dieser Norm beschriebene Prüfung wird die Leitung als Leitung C bezeichnet.
Diese Prüfung ist sowohl für vertikale als auch horizontale Entrauchungsleitungen vorgesehen. Sofern jedoch horizontale als auch vertikale Prüfungen nach EN 1366-1 für das bestimmte System durchgeführt wurden, braucht ein vertikales System nicht nach diesem Verfahren geprüft zu werden, wenn es nach diesem Verfahren in horizontaler Anordnung geprüft wurde. Wenn das System jedoch in der Praxis nur für vertikale Anwendungen innerhalb eines Rauchabzugssystems verwendet wird, ist es notwendig, es nach diesem Verfahren in vertikaler Anordnung zu prüfen.
Das Prüfverfahren ist nur für Leitungen aus nichtbrennbaren Baustoffen geeignet (Euroklassen A1 und A2).
Diese Norm gilt nur für vierseitige beflammte Leitungen; sie gilt nicht für ein-, zwei- und dreiseitige beflammte Leitungen.

Essai de résistance au feu des installations de service - Partie 8: Conduits d'extraction de fumées

Cette  partie de la Norme européenne définit une méthode d'essai à laquelle doivent être soumis les conduits d'extraction de fumées résistants au feu et n'est applicable, qu'aux conduits d'extraction de fumée qui traversent les compartiments de feu. Elle décrit les conditions d'exposition à un feu pleinement développé.
Cette méthode d'essai n'applicable qu'aux conduits résistants au feu soumis à l'essai selon les conditions énoncées dans la norme EN 1366-1 (conduits A et B). Pour le conduit A, il est nécessaire que la dépression normalisée de 300 Pa comme décrit dans la norme EN 1366-1 soit augmentée à 500 Pa pour les conduits d'extraction de fumée résistant au feu. Pour les besoins des essais décrits dans la présente norme, le conduit concerné est appelé conduit C.
Cet essai a été conçu pour couvrir aussi bien les conduits d'extraction de fumée verticaux qu'horizontaux. Cependant, à condition que les essais horizontaux et verticaux aient été conduits suivant l'EN 1366-1 sous un système particulier, le système vertical n'a pas besoin d'être évalué selon cette méthode. Cependant si en condition d'utilisation le système est utilisé pour des applications verticales dans les systèmes d'extraction de fumée, il deviendra alors nécessaire de réaliser cet essai selon l'orientation verticale.  
Cette méthode d'essai n'est valable que pour des conduits fabriqués avec des matériaux non-combustibles (euroclasse A1 et A2).
Les essais ne s'appliquent qu'aux conduits à quatre côtés ; les conduits à deux et trois côtés ne sont pas couverts.

1 Scope This Part of this document specifies a test method for determining the fire resistance of smoke extraction ducts. It is applicable only to smoke extraction ducts that pass through another fire compartment from the fire compartment to be extracted in case of fire. It represents fire exposure of a fully developed fire. This method of test is only applicable to fire resisting ducts that have passed the test for the appropriate period to EN 1366-1 (ducts A and B). For duct A, it is a requirement for fire resisting smoke extraction ducts that the document under pressure of 300 Pa, as given in EN 1366-1 is increased to 500 Pa when testing to EN 1366-1. For the purposes of the test described in this document, the duct is referred to as duct C. This test has been designed to cover both vertical and horizontal smoke extraction ducts. However, provided both horizontal and vertical tests have been carried out to EN 1366-1 on the specific system, a vertical system need not be evaluated to this method provided it has been tested in a horizontal orientation to this method. However, if the system in practice is only to be used for vertical applications in smoke extraction systems, then it will need to be tested in a vertical orientation to this method. This method of test is only suitable for ducts constructed from non-combustible materials (Euroclass A1 and A2).
