Reinforcement yarns - Determination of twist (ISO 1890:1997)
This European Standard specifies a method for the determination of twist in continuous filaments yarns made with textile glass, carbon or aramid. This method is not applicable to products made form staple fibres. For yarns without twist or with twist less than 10 T/m modified equipment is to be used in order to obtain the required precision (see paragraph 5.1).

Diese Internationale Norm legt ein Verfahren zur Bestimmung der Drehung von Textilgias-, Kohlenstoff- oder Aramidfilamentengarnen fest. Dieses Verfahren ist nicht auf Stapelfasergarne anwendbar. Für Garne ohne Drehung oder mit sehr geringer Drehung darf ein modifiziertes Prüfgerät verwendet werden um eine ausreichende Genauigkeit zu erhalten.

La présente norme européenne spécifie une méthode de détermination de la torsionde fils de renfort réalisés à l'aide de filaments de verre textile, de carbone ou d'aramide. Cette méthode n'est pas applicable aux fils réalisés à base de fibres discontinues (filés). Pour les fils sans torsion ou avec une torsion inférieure à 10 T/m, un équipement modifié est utilisé afin de conserver une précision suffisante (voir ] 5.1).

INTERNATIONAL STANDARD @ IS0 IS0 1890: 1997(E) Reinforcement yarns - Determination of twist 1 Scope This International Standard specifies a method for the determination of twist in yarns made from textile glass, carbon or aramid filaments. The method applies to single yarns (one twist) and to folded or cabled yarns (two or more twists). For folded and cabled yarns, the method is generally applied only to the final twist step. This International Standard is applicable to package-wound yarns. If the measurement is carried out on yarns taken from a beam (or warp) or from a fabric, the result is of an indicative nature only. The method is not applicable to products made from staple fibres. 2 Normative references The following standards contain provisions which, through reference in this text, constitute provisions of this International Standard.
