This European Standard specifies minimum requirements for self-contained open-circuit compressed air breathing apparatus for escape only, incorporating a hood.
Such equipment is intended for use in work situations where the risk on overpressurisation of the pressure vessels with their valves due to hot environmental conditions is low.
Laboratory and practical performance tests are included for the assessment of compliance with the requirements.
This European Standard does not apply to apparatus for work or to diving devices.

Diese Europäische Norm legt Mindestanforderungen für Behältergeräte mit Druckluft für Selbstrettung fest,
die eine Haube enthalten.
Solche Ausrüstung ist zum Einsatz bei Arbeitssituationen vorgesehen, bei denen die Gefahr der
Druckerhöhung in den Druckbehältern mit ihren Ventilen durch heiße Umgebungsbedingungen gering ist.
Laborprüfungen und praktische Leistungsprüfungen sind zum Beurteilen der Übereinstimmung mit den
Anforderungen enthalten.
Diese Europäische Norm gilt nicht für Arbeitsgeräte und nicht für Tauchgeräte.

La présente Norme européenne stipule les exigences minimum applicables aux appareils de protection
respiratoire autonomes isolants à circuit ouvert à air comprimé, avec cagoule pour l�évacuation.
Cet équipement est destiné à une utilisation dans les situations de travail où le risque de surpressurisation
des appareils sous pression et de leurs soupapes du fait de la chaleur ambiante est faible.
Elle contient des essais de laboratoire et des essais pratiques de performance pour s�assurer de la conformité
avec les exigences.
La présente Norme européenne ne s�applique pas aux appareils de travail ou de plongée.
