Shower trays for domestic purposes
Modification to EN 14527:2006 to bring it in line with the EC indications (see doc CEN/TC 163 N 704 rev2) and to the decision of CEN/TC 163 on Annex ZA (see doc CEN/TC 163/WG 4 N 199).

Diese Europäische Norm wurde gemäß dem von der Europäischen Kommission und der Europäischen Freihandelszone an CEN erteilten Mandat M/1102) erarbeitet.
Die in diesem Anhang aufgeführten Abschnitte dieser Europäischen Norm erfüllen die Anforderungen des Mandates, das auf der Grundlage der EG-Bauprodukte-Richtlinie (89/106/EWG) erteilt wurde.
Die Übereinstimmung mit diesen Abschnitten berechtigt zur Vermutung, dass die mit diesem Anhang abgedeckten Duschwannen für den vorgesehenen Verwendungszweck geeignet sind; es ist auf die Angaben zu verweisen, die der CE Kennzeichnung beigefügt sind.
WARNUNG — Andere Anforderungen und andere EG Richtlinien, die nicht die Eignung für den vorgesehenen Verwendungszweck berühren, können das (die) in den Anwendungsbereich dieser Europäischen Norm fallende(n) Bauprodukt(e) betreffen.
ANMERKUNG 1 Zusätzlich zu den konkreten Abschnitten dieser Norm, die sich auf gefährliche Substanzen beziehen, kann es weitere Anforderungen an die Produkte, die in den Anwendungsbereich dieser Norm fallen (z. B. umgesetzte europäische Rechtsvorschriften und nationale Rechts- und Verwaltungsvorschriften). Um die Bestimmungen der EU Bauprodukte-Richtlinie zu erfüllen, ist es notwendig, die besagten Anforderungen, sofern sie Anwendung finden, ebenfalls einzuhalten.

Dieser Anhang gibt die Bedingungen für die CE-Kennzeichnung der Duschwannen für den in Tabelle ZA.1 angegebenen Verwendungszweck an und führt die einschlägigen geltenden Abschnitte an. Dieser Anhang hat denselben Anwendungsbereich wie im Abschnitt 1 dieser Norm und ist durch Tabelle ZA.1 bestimmt.

La présente Norme européenne a été élaborée dans le cadre du Mandat M/110 ) donné au CEN par la Commission européenne et l'Association européenne de libre-échange.
Les articles de la présente Norme Européenne figurant dans la présente annexe satisfont aux exigences du mandat donné dans le cadre de la Directive CE Produits de Construction (89/106/CEE).
La conformité à ces articles confère présomption d'aptitude à l’emploi des receveurs de douche visés par la présente annexe pour leur usage prévu; il doit être fait référence aux informations accompagnant le marquage CE.
AVERTISSEMENT — D’autres exigences et d’autres Directives CE, n’affectant pas l’aptitude à l’emploi pour les usages prévus, peuvent s’appliquer au(x) produit(s) de construction relevant du domaine d’application de la présente Norme européenne.
NOTE 1 En complément des articles spécifiques relatifs aux substances dangereuses éventuellement contenus dans la présente norme, il peut exister d'autres exigences applicables aux produits couverts par son domaine d'application (par exemple, transposition de réglementation européenne, réglementations nationales et dispositions administratives nationales). Pour être conforme aux dispositions de la Directive CE Produits de Construction, il est nécessaire de respecter également ces exigences, où et quand elles s’appliquent.

La présente annexe fixe les conditions de marquage CE des receveurs de douche destinés à l’usage indiqué dans le Tableau ZA.1 et mentionne les articles applicables y afférant. La présente annexe a le même domaine d'application que l'Article 1 de la présente norme et est défini par le Tableau ZA.1.

This draft amendment is submitted to CEN members for second unique acceptance procedure. It has been drawn up by the Technical
Committee CEN/TC 163.
This draft amendment A1, if approved, will modify the European Standard EN 14527:2006. If this draft becomes an amendment, CEN
members are bound to comply with the CEN/CENELEC Internal Regulations which stipulate the conditions for inclusion of this amendment
into the relevant national standard without any alteration.

This document supports the unified approach for CE marking of sanitary appliances covered by harmonised
European Standards elaborated by CEN/TC 163 under the Mandate M/110 "Sanitary appliances".
1 Modification to Clause 1 “Scope”
In the first paragraph, delete the wording “of cleanability”.
2 Modification to sub-clause 3.3
Replace with the following:
“3.3

working life of the product”.
3 Insertion of new Clause 4 as follows:
“4 Classification

4 Modification to the heading of the renumbered Clause 5 (former Clause 4) as
follows:

7 Insertion of new Clause 6 as follows:
“6 Requirements for class 2 products
6.1 General
The manufacturer shall provide instructions with each shower tray covering installation and care.
NOTE Annex B gives advice which manufacturers can include in their instructions.
6.2 Cleanability
6.2.1 Appearance of surface
When a shower tray is inspected under strong and oblique illumination, the surfaces intended to come into
contact with water shall be visibly smooth, non-absorbent and free from inaccessible corners that would impair
the cleanability.
NOTE Surfaces with cracks, chips, crazing and other similar defects are not considered to be smooth.
6.2.2 Drainage of water
Shower trays shall have at least one waste outlet hole. The dimensions of the waste outlet hole shall comply
with the requirements of EN 251. Other dimensions are permissible, if the manufacturer provides or
recommends a suitable waste fitting.
All water shall empty from the shower tray unless prevented by surface tension.
6.3 Durability
6.3.1 General
Shower trays shall be readily cleanable for their anticipated working life when normal cleaning and
maintenance is carried out.
6.3.2 Materials
Experience has shown that shower trays made from plastics materials, enamelled steel, enamelled cast iron,
stainless steel, glazed ceramics or glass and their surfaces intended to come into contact with water have the
properties described in 6.3.1.”

10 Modification to sub-clause 10.2.3 “Samples, testing and compliance criteria”

Replace the existing text in 10.2.3 with the following:
"The shower tray shall be subjected to and pass the relevant tests in Table 4 or Table 5 before delivery
commences.
