Solid biofuels - Determination of moisture content - Oven dry method - Part 3: Moisture in general analysis sample
This European Standard describes the method of determining the moisture in the analysis sample by drying the sample in an oven. It is intended to be used for general analysis samples according to CEN/TS 14780. The method described in this document is applicable to all solid biofuels.
NOTE The term moisture content when used with biomass materials can be misleading since untreated biomass frequently contains varying amounts of volatile compounds (extractives) which may evaporate when determining the moisture content of the general analysis sample by oven drying (see Bibliography).
Since small particle size biofuels are very hygroscopic, their moisture content will vary with change of humidity of the atmosphere and therefore the moisture of the analyses sample should always be determined simultaneously when portions are weighed out for other analytical determinations, for example calorific value, carbon, nitrogen.

Diese Europäische Norm legt ein Verfahren zur Bestimmung des Wassergehaltes in der Analysenprobe durch Trocknen der Probe in einem Ofen fest. Sie ist für die Anwendung bei allgemeinen Analysenproben nach CEN/TS 14780 vorgesehen. Das in diesem Dokument festgelegte Verfahren gilt für alle festen Biobrennstoffe.
ANMERKUNG Der Begriff Wassergehalt kann bei der Anwendung im Zusammenhang mit Biomasse Materialien irreführend sein, weil unbehandelte Biomasse oft unterschiedliche Mengen an flüchtigen Verbindungen (Extraktstoffen) enthält, die bei der Bestimmung des Wassergehaltes allgemeiner Analysenproben durch Ofentrocknung verdampfen können (siehe Literaturhinweise).
Da Biobrennstoffe mit kleiner Partikelgröße stark hygroskopisch sind, ändert sich deren Wassergehalt bei Änderung der Luftfeuchte, und deshalb sollte der Wassergehalt der Analysenprobe immer gleichzeitig wäh-rend der Einwaage von Proben für andere analytische Bestimmungen, z. B. des Brennwertes, Kohlenstoffs, Stickstoffs, ermittelt werden.

La présente Norme européenne décrit la méthode de détermination de l'humidité de l'échantillon pour analyse par séchage à l'étuve. Elle est destinée à être utilisée sur des échantillons pour analyse générale conformément au CEN/TS 14780. La méthode décrite dans le présent document est applicable à tous les biocombustibles solides.
NOTE Lorsqu'il est employé dans un contexte de matériaux de biomasse, le terme "teneur en humidité" peut prêter à confusion car la biomasse non traitée contient souvent des quantités variables de composés volatils (extraits) susceptibles de s'évaporer lors de la détermination de la teneur en humidité des échantillons pour analyse générale par séchage à l'étuve (voir Bibliographie).
Les biocombustibles constitués de particules de petite taille étant très hygroscopiques, leur teneur en humidité varie en fonction du changement d'humidité de l'atmosphère. Il convient donc de toujours procéder simultanément à la détermination de l'humidité de l'échantillon pour analyse et à la pesée de parties de cet échantillon destinées à d'autres déterminations analytiques, par exemple, le pouvoir calorifique, la teneur en carbone ou en azote.
