Fire resistance tests for non-loadbearing elements - Part 6: Cavity Barriers

This test method specifies a method for determining the fire resistance of cavity barriers and is to be used in conjunction with EN 1363 1.
This standard is applicable to non-loadbearing vertically or horizontally oriented closed and open cavity barriers, which are used to provide fire separation to uncompartmented or ventilated spaces. Cavity barriers are designed to provide fire separating performance and the test method is therefore based on the standard room fire exposure in EN 1363 1. Open cavity barrier specimens are installed for test in one of two ways to simulate slow or sudden exposure in use.
This standard is not applicable to cavity barriers containing penetration seals, which are to be tested in accordance with EN 1366 3.

Dieses Prüfverfahren legt ein Verfahren zur Bestimmung des Feuerwiderstands von Hohlraum-Brandsperren fest und ist in Kombination mit EN 1363-1 anzuwenden.
Diese Norm ist anwendbar auf nichttragende vertikal- oder horizontalausgerichtete geschlossene und offene Hohlraum-Brandsperren, die als Brandsperre in nicht unterteilten oder belüfteten Räumen zum Einsatz kommen. Hohlraum-Brandsperren sind darauf ausgelegt, den Brandübertritt zu verhindern, und das Prüfverfahren basiert daher auf den genormten Beflammungsbedingungen für Räume nach EN 1363-1. Es werden Probekörper von offenen Hohlraum-Brandsperren zur Prüfung in einer von zwei möglichen Konfigurationen installiert, um eine langsame oder plötzliche Einwirkung zu simulieren.
Diese Norm gilt nicht für Hohlraum-Brandsperren mit Abschottungen, die nach EN 1366-3 zu prüfen sind.

La présente méthode d'essai spécifie une méthode permettant de déterminer la résistance au feu des dispositifs de recoupement de lame d’air et doit être utilisée conjointement avec l'EN 1363-1.
La présente norme s'applique aux dispositifs de recoupement de lame d’air non porteurs, fermés et ouverts, orientés verticalement ou horizontalement, qui sont utilisés pour assurer le cloisonnement coupe-feu d'espaces non compartimentés ou ventilés. Les dispositifs de recoupement de lame d’air sont conçus pour offrir des performances de cloisonnement coupe-feu et la méthode d'essai est donc fondée sur l'exposition au feu d'une pièce normalisée selon l'EN 1363-1. Les éléments d'essai de dispositif de recoupement de lame d’air ouvert sont installés en vue de l'essai de manière à simuler une exposition lente ou une exposition soudaine en service.
La présente norme ne s'applique pas aux dispositifs de recoupement de lame d’air contenant des calfeutrements de trémies qui doivent être soumis à essai conformément à l'EN 1366-3.

SIST EN 1364-5:2017

This European Standard specifies a method for determining the fire resistance of air transfer grilles (ATG).
It is applicable to air transfer grilles intended for installation in building components (typically walls, floors or ceilings). The orientation of the installation of the air transfer grille can be vertical or horizontal.
The closing mechanism of the air transfer grille can come from expansion of material and/or from any mechanical or electrical closing device.
This test method is valid for fire resistant or fire resistant and smoke control air transfer grilles.
An additional test configuration is valid for fire resistant or fire resistant and smoke control air transfer grilles in applications where flame impingement is a risk during open state from start of fire (Annex A).
This test method evaluates the behaviour of the air transfer grille when exposed to the standard fire curve described in EN 1363-1 and the standard pressure described in EN 1363-1. It is not the intention of this test to provide quantitative information on the rate of leakage of smoke and/or hot gases or on the transmission or generation of fumes under fire conditions. Such phenomena are only to be noted in describing the general behaviour of test specimens during the test.
The rate of leakage of smoke at ambient temperature or at 200 °C as an optional requirement for ATG with declared smoke control will be confirmed in accordance with standard EN 1634-3.
This test method is not valid for determining the fire resistance of air transfer grilles that are used in ducts because ATG are considered as separating elements. The test method for ATG, used in ducts is described in the corresponding duct standards.
This test method is not valid for determining the fire resistance of a fire damper or a fire barrier connected to a duct on either or both sides because an ATG is tested as a fire-separating element on its own. Fire dampers are tested according to EN 1366-2. Non-mechanical fire barriers are tested according to EN 1366-12.
This test method is not valid for determining the fire resistance of air transfer grilles in fire doors, shutters and openable windows as specified in EN 1634-1 and EN 1364-2, because the deformation of fire doors, shutters and openable windows in fire conditions differs from the deformation of flexible/rigid walls. Moreover the location of thermocouples in the door standard is too specific to be handled in this standard.

This document specifies design, type test methods, marking and instruction requirements for cylinder valves with integrated pressure regulators (VIPRs) intended to be fitted to gas cylinders, pressure drums or tubes or used as a main valve for bundles of cylinders that convey compressed, liquefied or dissolved gases.
These are requirements for VIPRs that are in addition to those given in the relevant closure standard, for example, in ISO 10297 for cylinder valves, in ISO 17871 for quick-release cylinder valves, in ISO 17879 for self-closing cylinder valves or in ISO 23826 for ball valves. For ISO 17871, these requirements are only applicable to quick-release cylinder valves types B, C, D and E.
NOTE 1        If the pressure regulating system of a VIPR is acting as the primary valve operating mechanism, it is covered by the relevant closure standard, e.g. ISO 10297, ISO 17871, ISO 17879 and ISO 23826. This also includes designs where closure of the primary valve operating mechanism of a VIPR is obtained by closing the seat of the pressure regulating system.
NOTE 2        If the primary valve operating mechanism of a VIPR is located at the low-pressure side of the pressure regulating system, it is covered by the relevant closure standard, e.g. ISO 10297, ISO 17871, ISO 17879 and ISO 23826.
NOTE 3        The term “pressure receptacle” is used within this document to cover instances where no differentiation is necessary between gas cylinders, bundles of cylinders, pressure drums and tubes.
This document does not apply to VIPRs for
a)       medical applications (see ISO 10524-3);
b)       liquefied petroleum gas (LPG);
c)        cryogenic applications.
