Buoyant aids for swimming instruction - Part 2: Safety requirements and test methods for buoyant aids to be held
This European Standard specifies safety requirements for construction, performance, sizing and marking for swimming devices intended to assist users with movement through the water in the early stages of water awareness, while learning to swim or while learning part of a swimming stroke. It also gives methods of test for verification of these requirements.
This part 2 of EN 13138 applies only to class C devices that are designed to be held in the hands or by the body. Typical devices include kick boards and pull/kick boards. These devices are used to assist in learning to swim or to assist with swimming strokes and improving specific elements of the stroke, which have either inherent buoyancy or can be inflated.
It does not apply to pull buoys, swim rings, lifebuoys, buoyancy aids, lifejackets or aquatic toys.

Diese Europäische Norm legt sicherheitstechnische Anforderungen an Konstruktion, Gebrauchstauglichkeit, Größen und Kennzeichnung von Auftriebshilfen fest, die dazu vorgesehen sind, Benutzer bei der Bewegung im Wasser in den frühen Phasen der Wasserwahrnehmung, beim Schwimmenlernen oder beim Erlernen eines Teils einer Schwimmbewegung zu unterstützen. Weiterhin werden Prüfverfahren zur Verifizierung dieser Anforderungen angegeben.
Dieser Teil 2 der EN 13138 gilt nur für Auftriebshilfen der Klasse C, die dafür ausgelegt sind, in den Händen oder mit dem Körper gehalten zu werden. Typische Auftriebshilfen sind Schwimmbretter für Arme und Beine. Diese Auftriebshilfen, die entweder über Feststoffauftrieb verfügen oder aufgeblasen werden können, werden verwendet, um das Schwimmenlernen oder Schwimmbewegungen zu unterstützen und einzelne Elemente der Schwimmbewegungen zu verbessern.
Sie gilt nicht für Armzug-Trainingsgeräte, Schwimmringe, Rettungsringe, Schwimmhilfen, Rettungswesten oder Wasserspielzeuge.

La présente Norme européenne fixe les exigences de sécurité relatives à la fabrication, aux performances, à la taille et au marquage des aides à la natation conçues pour aider les utilisateurs dans l'apprentissage des mouvements dans l'eau lors des premières étapes de la prise de contact avec l'eau, lorsqu’ils apprennent à nager ou lorsqu’il apprennent une partie d’un mouvement de natation. Elle donne également des méthodes d’essai pour la vérification du respect de ces exigences.
La présente partie 2 de l’EN 13138 s'applique uniquement aux dispositifs de classe C, qui sont conçus pour être tenus par les mains ou par le corps. Des dispositifs typiques de ce style comprennent les planches de natation et les planches tenues entre les jambes ou par les mains (« kick/pull boards »). Ces dispositifs sont dotés d’une flottabilité inhérente ou sont gonflables et sont utilisés pour aider à l’apprentissage de la natation ou à aider à certains mouvements de natation et améliorer certains aspects du mouvement de natation.
Elle ne s'applique pas aux bouées de traction (« pull buoys »), aux aides à la flottabilité, aux gilets de sauvetage ou aux jouets aquatiques.

Ta evropski standard določa varnostne zahteve za izdelavo, delovanje, velikost in označevanje za plavajoče pripomočke, namenjene za pomoč uporabnikom pri gibanju v vodi med začetnimi stopnjami zavedanja vode pri učenju plavanja ali učenju dela plavalnega zamaha. Določa tudi preskusne metode za preverjanje teh zahtev. Ta 2. del standarda EN 13138 zajema naprave razreda C, ki so zasnovane za držanje v rokah ali držanje s telesom. Tipične naprave zajemajo plavalne deske in plovčke. Te naprave so namenjene za pomoč pri učenju plavanja ali za pomoč pri plavalnih zamahih in izboljšavi določenih delov zamaha ter vsebujejo plovni material ali jih je mogoče napihniti.
