Agricultural machinery - Safety - Part 10: Rotary tedders and rakes (ISO 4254-10:2009)

ISO 4254-10:2009, to be used together with ISO 4254-1, specifies the safety requirements and their verification for the design and construction of rotary tedders, rotary rakes and rotary tedder–rakes, including rotary drum rakes, used by one person (the operator) only, having one or several powered rotors, mounted, semi-mounted, trailed or self-propelled. In addition, it specifies the type of information on safe working practices, including residual risks, to be provided by the manufacturer.
ISO 4254-10:2009 is not applicable to: machines with ground­‑driven tines or ground‑wheel–driven tines (e.g. sunflower rakes); parallel bar rakes; chain or endless belt type rakes; pedestrian‑controlled tedders and rakes; machines equipped with a pick-up device.
ISO 4254-10:2009, taken together with ISO 4254-1, deals with all the significant hazards, hazardous situations and events relevant to rotary tedders, rotary rakes and rotary tedder­–rakes when they are used as intended and under the conditions foreseen by the manufacturer, excepting the hazards arising from: the environment,  other than noise; electromagnetic compatibility; vibration; overturning in regard to the protection of the operator at the driving station of a self-propelled machine; moving parts for power transmission except strength requirements for guards and barriers; safety and reliability of control systems.

Landmaschinen - Sicherheit - Teil 10: Kreiselzetter und Schwader (ISO 4254-10:2009)

Dieser Teil von ISO 4254, der zusammen mit ISO 4254-1 anzuwenden ist, enthält sicherheitstechnische
Anforderungen und deren Überprüfung für Gestaltung und Konstruktion von Kreiselzettern, Kreiselschwadern,
Kreiselrechwendern einschließlich Trommelzettschwadern, mit einem oder mehreren angetriebenen Kreiseln,
angebaut, aufgesattelt, gezogen oder selbstfahrend. Die Benutzung erfolgt durch nur eine Person (Bedienungsperson).
Zusätzlich legt sie fest, welche Informationen über sicheres Arbeiten einschließlich Restrisiken
vom Hersteller zur Verfügung zu stellen sind.
Dieser Teil von ISO 4254 gilt nicht für:
a) Maschinen mit bodenangetriebenen Zinken oder bodenradgetriebenen Zinken (z. B. Radrechwender);
b) Schubrechwender;
c) Ketten- oder Bandrechwender;
d) handgeführte Zetter und Schwader;
e) Maschinen mit einer Pick-up.
Wenn Anforderungen dieses Teils von ISO 4254 von den Anforderungen in ISO 4254-1 abweichen, haben die
Anforderungen dieses Teils von ISO 4254 Vorrang gegenüber den Anforderungen von ISO 4254-1 für
Maschinen, die nach den Bestimmungen dieses Teils von ISO 4254 konstruiert und gebaut worden sind.
Dieser Teil von ISO 4254 behandelt zusammen mit ISO 4254-1 alle signifikanten Gefährdungen, Gefährdungssituationen
und Gefährdungsereignisse von Kreiselzettern, Kreiselschwadern und Kreiselrechwendern,
wenn sie bestimmungsgemäß und unter den vom Hersteller vorgesehenen Bedingungen der vernünftigerweise
vorhersehbaren Fehlanwendung verwendet werden (siehe Abschnitt 4), ausgenommen Gefährdungen
durch:
 andere Umweltgefährdungen als Geräusche;
 elektromagnetische Verträglichkeit;
 Schwingungen;
 Umstürzen hinsichtlich des Schutzes der Bedienungsperson am Fahrerplatz einer selbstfahrenden
Maschine;
 bewegte Teile der Kraftübertragung, ausgenommen Festigkeitsanforderungen an Schutzeinrichtungen
und Abweisbügeln;

L'ISO 4254-10:2009, à utiliser conjointement avec l'ISO 4254-1, spécifie les exigences de sécurité et leur vérification pour la conception et la construction des faneuses rotatives, andaineuses rotatives et faneuses-andaineuses rotatives, y compris les andaineuses rotatives à tambour, à un ou plusieurs rotors animés, portées, semi-portées, traînées ou automotrices, utilisées par une seule personne (l'opérateur). En outre, elle spécifie le type d'informations que le fabricant doit fournir sur les pratiques d'utilisation sûre (incluant les risques résiduels).
L'ISO 4254-10:2009 ne s'applique pas aux machines avec dents entraînées par le sol durant l'avancement ou avec dents entraînées par une roue roulant sur le sol (par exemple les râteaux-soleil); aux andaineuses à râteaux parallèles; aux andaineuses à chaînes ou à courroies; aux faneuses et andaineuses à conducteur à pied; aux machines dotées d'un dispositif de ramassage.
L'ISO 4254-10:2009, prise avec l'ISO 4254-1, traite de tous les phénomènes dangereux, situations dangereuses et événements dangereux significatifs relatifs aux faneuses rotatives, andaineuses rotatives et faneuses-andaineuses rotatives, lorsqu'elles sont utilisées normalement et dans les conditions de mauvais usage raisonnablement prévisible par le fabricant, à l'exception des phénomènes dangereux provenant de l'environnement, autres que le bruit; de la compatibilité électromagnétique; des vibrations; du retournement, eu égard à la protection de l'opérateur au poste de conduite des machines automotrices; des organes mobiles de transmission de puissance, à l'exception des exigences relatives à la résistance des protecteurs et des barres d'éloignement; de la sécurité et de la fiabilité des systèmes de commande.

Ta del ISO 4254, ki se uporablja skupaj z ISO 4254-1, opredeljuje varnostne zahteve in njihovo preverjanje za načrtovanje in izgradnjo vrtavkastih obračalnikov, vrtavkastih zgrabljalnikov in vrtavkastih obračalnikov -zgrabljalnikov, vključno z vrtavkastimi bobnastimi zgrabljalniki, ki jih uporablja zgolj ena oseba (upravljavec), in ki imajo enega ali več gnanih rotorjev, pritrjenih, pol pritrjenih, vlečenih ali samognanih. This document (EN ISO 4254-10:2009) has been prepared by Technical Committee CEN/TC 144 “Tractors
and machinery for agriculture and forestry", the secretariat of which is held by AFNOR, in collaboration with
Technical Committee ISO/TC 23 "Tractors and machinery for agriculture and forestry".
This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an identical
text or by endorsement, at the latest by June 2010, and conflicting national standards shall be withdrawn at
the latest by June 2010.
