This European Standard specifies the equipment and procedures for determining the effect of successive cycling from dry conditions at -20 °C to wet conditions at 20 °C on the mechanical properties and moisture content of the product. It is applicable to thermal insulating products.
It is intended to simulate freeze-thaw effects on thermal insulating products which are frequently exposed to water and low temperature conditions, e.g. inverted roofs and unprotected ground insulation.
This test method is not recommended for all thermal insulating products. If relevant, the product standards will state for which products this standard is applicable.

Wärmedämmstoffe für das Bauwesen - Bestimmung des Verhaltens bei Frost-Tau-Wechselbeanspruchung

Diese Europäische Norm legt Prüfeinrichtungen und Verfahren zur Bestimmung der Auswirkungen von zyklisch aufeinanderfolgenden trockenen Umgebungsbedingungen bei 20 °C und feuchten Umgebungsbedingungen bei 20 °C auf die mechanischen Eigenschaften und den Feuchtegehalt eines Produkts fest. Sie gilt für Wärmedämmstoffe.
Das Prüfverfahren simuliert das Verhalten bei Frost Tau Wechseln von Wärmedämmstoffen, die häufig Wasser und niedrigen Temperaturen ausgesetzt werden, wie z. B. im „Umkehrdach“ und bei der ungeschützten Wärmedämmung zum Erdreich.
Dieses Prüfverfahren ist nicht für alle Wärmedämmstoffe geeignet. In den Produktnormen wird daher festgelegt, für welche der in ihnen beschriebenen Produkte diese Norm anzuwenden ist.

La présente Norme européenne spécifie l'équipement et les modes opératoires permettant de déterminer l'effet sur les propriétés mécaniques et la teneur en eau du produit de cycles successifs entre des conditions sèches à - 20 °C et des conditions humides à 20 °C. Elle s'applique aux produits isolants thermiques.
Elle est destinée à simuler les effets du gel-dégel sur les produits isolants thermiques fréquemment exposés à l'eau et à de basses températures, par exemple en toiture inversée ou en isolation au contact direct de la terre.
Cette méthode d'essai n'est pas recommandée pour tous les produits isolants thermiques. Le cas échéant, les normes relatives aux produits mentionneront à quels produits la présente norme s'applique.

Te evropski standard določa opremo in postopke za ugotavljanje učinka zaporednega menjavanja iz suhega stanja pri –20 °C v mokro stanje pri 20 °C na mehanske lastnosti in vsebnost vlage v izdelku. Uporablja se za toplotnoizolacijske proizvode. Namenjen je simulaciji učinkov zamrzovanja/odtajanja na toplotnoizolacijske izdelke, ki so pogosto izpostavljeni vodi in nizkim temperaturam, npr. invertne strehe in nezaščitena izolacija tal. Ta testna metoda se ne priporoča za vse toplotnoizolacijske izdelke. Če je ustrezno, bo v standardih za izdelek navedeno, na katere izdelke se nanaša ta standard.

This European Standard is one of a series of standards which specify test methods for determining dimensions and properties of thermal insulating materials and products. It supports a series of product standards for thermal insulating materials and products which derive from the Council Directive of 21 December 1988 on the approximation of laws, regulations and administrative provisions of the Member States relating to construction products (Directive 89/106/EEC) through the consideration of the essential requirements. This European Standard has been drafted for applications in buildings but it may also be used in other areas where it is relevant.
