This European Standard specifies a method for determining the fire resistance of door and shutter assemblies and openable windows designed for installation within openings incorporated in vertical separating elements, such as:
a)   hinged and pivoted doors;
b)   horizontally sliding and vertically sliding doors including articulated sliding doors and sectional doors;
c)   folding doors, sliding folding doors /shutters;
d)   tilting doors;
e)   rolling shutter doors;
f)   openable windows;
g)   operable fabric curtains.
This European Standard is used in conjunction with EN 1363 1.
The testing of fire dampers is covered by EN 1366 2.
The testing of closures for conveyor systems is covered by EN 1366 7.
By prior agreement with the test sponsor, additional information may be gained for individual elements of building hardware in order to fulfil the performance criteria identified in EN 1634 2. Based on the observations recorded during the test, the results may be presented in a separate report which should be in accordance with the requirements of EN 1634 2.

Diese Europäische Norm legt ein Verfahren für die Bestimmung der Feuerwiderstandsdauer von Türen, Toren, Abschlüssen und Fenstern fest, die für den Einbau in Öffnungen von vertikalen raumabschließenden Bauteilen vorgesehen sind, wie z. B.:
a)   Drehflügeltüren und -tore;
b)   Horizontal- und Vertikal-Schiebetüren/-tore, einschließlich mehrflügeliger Schiebetüren/-tore und Sektionaltüren/-tore;
c)   Falttüren, Faltschiebetüren/-tore und -abschlüsse;
d)   Kipptüren;
e)   Rollabschlüsse;
f)   Fenster;
g)   Feuerschutzvorhänge.
Diese Europäische Norm gilt in Verbindung mit EN 1363-1.
Die Prüfung von Brandschutzklappen wird in EN 1366-2 behandelt.
Die Prüfung von Abschlüssen für Förderanlagen wird in EN 1366-7 behandelt.
Nach vorheriger Vereinbarung mit dem Auftraggeber können zusätzliche Informationen für einzelne Baubeschläge gewonnen werden, um die in EN 1634 2 festgelegten Leistungskriterien zu erfüllen. Die Ergebnisse, die auf den während der Prüfung aufgezeichneten Beobachtungen beruhen, können in einem gesonderten Prüfbericht angegeben werden, der den Anforderungen von EN 1634 2 entsprechen sollte.

La présente Norme européenne spécifie une méthode de détermination de la résistance au feu des portes, des fermetures et des fenêtres conçues pour un montage dans des ouvertures ménagées dans des éléments de séparation verticaux tels que :
a)   des portes battantes et pivotantes ;
b)   des portes coulissant horizontalement et verticalement, y compris les portes coulissantes articulées et les portes sectionnelles ;
c)   des portes en accordéon, des portes et des fermetures coulissantes/en accordéon ;
d)   des portes basculantes ;
e)   des rideaux à enroulement ;
f)   des fenêtres ouvrantes ;
g)   rideaux en toile manœuvrables.
La présente Norme européenne est utilisée conjointement avec l’EN 1363 1.
Les essais de clapets résistants au feu sont couverts par l’EN 1366 2.
Les essais de fermetures de passages pour convoyeurs et bandes transporteuses sont couverts par l’EN 1366 7.
Par accord préalable avec le commanditaire des essais, des informations supplémentaires peuvent être obtenues concernant des éléments individuels de quincaillerie afin de remplir les critères de performance identifiés dans l'EN 1634 2. Les résultats, basés sur les observations consignées pendant les essais, peuvent être présentés dans un rapport distinct qu’il convient de rédiger conformément aux exigences de l'EN 1634 2.
