Glass in building - Glass blocks and glass pavers - Part 1: Definitions and description
This standard specifies regulations for the methods of manufacture and quality control referring to factory made glass blocks and glass pavers. Glass Blocks are used for the construction of building parts like non-bearing walls They have to be used in such a way that they only support their own weight in parallel with the visible surfaces and horizontal load, generated by wind and by impact loads perpendicular to the visible surfaces.

Diese Norm legt Anforderungen für die Herstellungsverfahren und die Prüfung der Beschaffenheit werksgefertigter Glassteine und Betongläser fest. Glassteine werden für die Herstellung nichttragendeer wandartiger Bauteile verwendet. Sie sind derart einzubauen, dass nur Eigengewicht parallel (siehe Bild 5) und Horizontallast aus Wind sowie Stossbeanspruchung senkrecht zu den Sichtflächen aufzunehmen sind.
