Agricultural and forestry machinery - Pedestrian controlled motor mowers - Safety

This European Standard specifies safety requirements and their verification for design and construction of pedestrian controlled motor mowers with rotary or reciprocating cutting means used in agricultural, forestry and landscaping to cut and/or mulch grass or similar plants or scrub and woody vegetation.
For the purposes of this standard the following types of pedestrian controlled machines are considered to be motor mowers:
-   flail mowers;
-   grassland mowers;
-   scrub clearing machines;
-   sickle bar mowers.
This standard applies also to multipurpose machines when used for cutting or mulching grass or scrub.
Note   When they are used for other operations (e.g. soil working) other standards can apply.
This standard does not cover lawn mowers (see EN ISO 5395 1, EN ISO 5395 2), engine driven brush cutters and grass trimmers (see EN ISO 11806) or other lawn maintenance equipment.
This document deals with significant hazards, hazardous situations and events, as listed in Annex A, relevant to pedestrian controlled motor mowers when used as intended and under conditions of misuse foreseeable by the manufacturer during normal operation and service. Additionally, it specifies the type of information to be provided by the manufacturer on safe working practices.
Environmental aspects (except noise) have not been considered in this standard.
This document is not applicable to motor mowers manufactured before the date of its publication.

Diese Europäische Norm enthält sicherheitstechnische Anforderungen und deren Überprüfung für Gestaltung und Konstruktion von handgeführten Motormähern mit rotierenden oder alternierenden Schneidwerkzeugen, die in der Land- und Forstwirtschaft und der Landschaftspflege zum Schneiden und/oder Mulchen von Gras oder ähnlichen Pflanzen oder Gestrüpp und holzartigem Bewuchs eingesetzt werden.
Im Sinne dieser Norm werden die folgenden Arten von handgeführten Maschinen als Motormäher betrachtet:
   Schlegelmäher;
   Aufwuchsmäher;
   Gestrüppmäher;
   Balkenmäher.
Diese Norm gilt ebenso für Mehrzweckgeräte, wenn sie zum Schneiden oder Mulchen von Gras oder Gestrüpp verwendet werden.
ANMERKUNG   Werden diese für andere Tätigkeiten eingesetzt (z. B. Bodenbearbeitung), können andere Normen gelten.
Diese Norm gilt nicht für Rasenmäher (siehe EN ISO 5395-1, EN ISO 5395-2), motorbetriebene Freischneider und Trimmer (siehe EN ISO 11806) oder andere Rasenpflegegeräte.
Dieses Dokument behandelt signifikante Gefährdungen, Gefährdungssituationen und -ereignisse, wie in Anhang A aufgeführt, von handgeführten Motormähern, wenn sie bestimmungsgemäß und unter dem vom Hersteller vorhersehbaren Bedingungen der Fehlanwendung während des normalen Betriebes und der Wartung verwendet werden. Zusätzlich legt sie fest, welche Informationen über sicheres Arbeiten vom Hersteller zur Verfügung zu stellen sind.
Umweltaspekte (außer Lärm) sind in dieser Norm nicht in Betracht gezogen.
Dieses Dokument gilt nicht für Motormäher, die vor dem Datum der Veröffentlichung dieser Norm hergestellt wurden.

La présente Norme européenne détermine les prescriptions de sécurité et les vérifications pour la conception et la construction des motofaucheuses à conducteur à pied munies de lames de coupe à mouvement alternatif ou rotatif, utilisées en agriculture, en foresterie ou en horticulture, pour couper et/ou broyer de l'herbe ou des plantes similaires ou des broussailles et de la végétation ligneuse. Pour les besoins de la présente norme, les types suivants de machines à conducteur à pied sont considérés comme étant des motofaucheuses :
-   tondeuses à fléau ;
-   faucheuses-broyeuses à conducteur à pied ;
-   débroussailleuses à roues ;
-   motofaucheuses à barre de coupe.
La présente norme s'applique également aux machines à usages multiples dans le cas de la coupe ou du broyage de l'herbe ou des broussailles ;
NOTE   Lorsqu'elles sont utilisées pour d'autres opérations (par exemple travail du sol), d'autres normes peuvent s'appliquer.
La présente norme ne s'applique pas aux tondeuses à gazon (voir l'EN ISO 5395-1, l'EN ISO 5395-2), ni aux débroussailleuses et coupe-herbe à moteur (voir l'EN ISO 11806), ni aux autres équipements d'entretien des pelouses.
Le présent document traite de tous les phénomènes, situations ou événements dangereux listés dans l'Annexe A applicables aux motofaucheuses à conducteur à pieds lorsqu’elles sont utilisées comme prévu et dans des conditions de mauvaise utilisation raisonnablement prévisibles par le fabricant.

Ta evropski standard določa varnostne zahteve ter njihovo preverjanje glede zasnove in izdelave ročno upravljanih motornih kosilnic z vrtljivimi ali povratnimi rezili, ki se uporabljajo v kmetijstvu, gozdarstvu ter krajinskem načrtovanju za košnjo in/ali mulčenje trave ali podobnih rastlin ali grmičevja in gozdnega rastlinja. Za namene tega standarda so kot motorne kosilnice obravnavani naslednji ročno upravljani stroji:
– mulčerji;
– kosilnice za travišča;
– stroji za odstranjevanje grmičev;
– kosilci s srpom na drogu.
Ta standard se uporablja tudi za večnamenske stroje, kadar se uporabljajo za košnjo ali mulčenje trave ali grmičev. Ta standard ne zajema vrtnih kosilnic (glej standard EN 836), motornih žag za nego in motornih kos (glej standard EN ISO 11806) ali druge opreme za vzdrževanje trate.
Ta standard opisuje metode za odpravljanje ali zmanjšanje nevarnosti, ki izhajajo iz uporabe motornih kosilnic. Poleg tega določa vrsto informacij, ki jih mora predložiti proizvajalec v zvezi z varnimi delovnimi postopki.
Okoljski vidiki v tem standardu niso obravnavani.
