This standard defines: - characteristics that elastomer-based mechanical parts shall achieve, together with applicable inspection and test methods to be carried out for verification; - approval procedure to be implemented by the customer; - guidelines for qualification of the product with specified requirements; - quality monitoring of elastomeric-based mechanical parts in manufacture; - supply requirements.

Diese Norm legt fest:
Eigenschaften mechanischer Bauteile auf Elastomerbasis sowie die anwendbaren Prüfungen und Prüfverfahren;
Freigabeverfahren das vom Auftraggeber anzugeben ist;
Richtlinien für die Qualifizierung des Produkts mit vorgeschriebenen Anforderungen;
Qualitätssicherung Elastomer-basierter mechanischer Teile bei der Herstellung.
Diese Norm gilt für die Konstruktion mechanische Bauteile auf Elastomerbasis für den Einbau in Schienenfahrzeuge und ähnlichen spurgebundenen Fahrzeugen mit Dauerleitsystemen, unabhängig von der Schienenart und der Lauffläche.
Zu den typische Anwendungen von mechanischen Bauteilen auf Elastomerbasis gehören:
Fahrzeugfederungssysteme;
Ausrüstungsanbausysteme;
Verbindungsstellen (z. B. Dämpferlager, Lager auf Elastomerbasis, Bauteile auf Elastomerbasis, die bei mechanischen Kupplungen eingesetzt werden);
Endanschläge.
Diese Bauteile können bestehen aus:
vollständig aus Elastomer, wobei sie selbständig oder in Kombination mit anderen elastischen Bauteilen arbeiten;
aus Elastomer und anderen Werkstoffen, aneinanderhaftend oder nicht.
Diese Norm gilt nicht für:
Membranen für pneumatische Tragfedern (Luftfederbälge);
elastische Teile von Federn der Zug- und Stoßeinrichtung;
Membranen, Faltenbälge und Dichtungen;
Schläuche und Rohre;
Treibriemen.

La présente norme définit: - les caractéristiques auxquelles doivent satisfaire les pièces mécaniques à base d'élastomère ainsi que les contrôles et essais à effectuer; - la procédure d'homologation appliquée par le client; - la procédure de qualification du produit en fonction des exigences spécifiées; - les modalités de surveillance de la qualité de la fabrication des pièces à base d'élastomère; - les exigences d'approvisionnement.
