Precast concrete products - Retaining wall elements
This European Standard deals with the requirements, the basic performance criteria and evaluation of conformity for precast elements made of plain, reinforced or prestressed normal weight concrete, used for the construction of retaining walls.
The products covered by this European Standard are intended to be used as part of retaining walls in applications such as:
- to retain natural ground excavations and trenches;
- to retain earth fills for roads, platforms, etc.;
- in bridge abutments and their flank walls;
- to retain several kinds of loose materials such as sand, gravel, etc.
Some examples of precast elements considered in this European Standard are shown in the Informative Annex B.
The products may be used in seismic areas on condition that they fulfil the requirements specific to this use.
This European Standard does not cover:
- products for retaining walls of tanks or reservoirs of liquids;
- retaining wall elements up to a height of 1,0 m and those assembled to form retaining walls of up to 1,0 m in height (e.g. stacked flower boxes for dwarf walls) if the corresponding retaining wall is used for secondary loads (max. horizontal earth fill and with light surcharge);
- products for stacked planting boxes, having only façade functions, and therefore not submitted to any loads (such as earth pressure loads, highway load effects, etc.);
- precast diaphragm walls (concrete sheet piling).
Betonfertigteile - Stützwandelemente
Diese Europäische Norm legt die Anforderungen, die grundsätzlichen Leistungskriterien und die Konformitätsbewertung von vorgefertigten Elementen fest, die aus unbewehrtem, bewehrtem oder vorgespanntem Normalbeton gefertigt sind und für die Konstruktion von Stützwänden verwendet werden.
Die in dieser Europäischen Norm behandelten Produkte sind für die Verwendung in Stützwänden vorgesehen, wie zum Beispiel:
um Baugruben und Gräben zu stützen;
um Erdauffüllungen für Straßen, Rampen usw. zu stützen;
bei Brückenwiderlagern und deren Seitenwänden;
um lose Böden wie z.B. Sand, Kies usw. zu stützen.
Einige Beispiele für vorgefertigte Elemente, die in dieser Europäischen Norm behandelt werden, sind im informativen Anhang B angegeben.
Die Produkte können in Erdbebengebieten angewandt werden, vorausgesetzt, dass sie die besonderen Anforderungen dieser Anwendung erfüllen.
Diese Europäische Norm gilt nicht für:
Produkte für Stützwände für Tanks oder Speicher, die Flüssigkeiten enthalten;
Stützwandelemente bis zu einer Höhe von 1,0 m sowie Stützwandelemente, die zu Stützwänden mit einer Höhe bis zu 1,0 m zusammengesetzt werden (z.B. aufeinander gesetzte Pflanzkübel für Niedrigmauern), falls die Stützwand zur Aufnahme von Sekundärlasten vorgesehen ist (maximale horizontale Erdanschüttung und mit leichter Auflast);
Produkte für gestapelte Pflanzkästen, die nur eine Sichtfunktion haben und daher keine Lasten (wie z.B. Erdlasten, Beanspruchungen durch Straßen, usw.) aufnehmen müssen;
vorgefertigte Schlitzwände (Betonspundwände).
Produits préfabriqués en béton - Éléments de murs de soutènement
La présente Norme européenne traite des prescriptions, des critères relatifs aux performances de base et de
l’évaluation de conformité pour les éléments préfabriqués en béton de masse volumique normale, armé, non
armé ou précontraint, utilisés pour la construction de murs de soutènement.
Les produits visés par la présente Norme européenne sont destinés à faire partie de murs de soutènement
pour des applications telles que :
- soutènement d'excavations et de tranchées creusées dans un terrain naturel ;
- soutènement de remblais de terre pour routes, plates-formes, etc. ;
- culées de ponts et leurs murs en retour/murs en aile ;
- soutènement de matériaux en vrac tels que sable, graviers etc.
Quelques exemples d’éléments préfabriqués traités dans la présente Norme européenne sont donnés dans
l’Annexe B informative.
Les produits peuvent être utilisés dans des zones sismiques à condition qu’ils répondent aux prescriptions
spécifiques à cette utilisation.
La présente Norme européenne ne concerne pas :
- les éléments pour cuves ou réservoirs contenant des liquides ;
- les éléments de murs de soutènement d'une hauteur inférieure ou égale à 1,0 m et les éléments
préfabriqués assemblés pour former des murs de soutènement d'une hauteur inférieure ou égale à 1,0 m
(par exemple jardinières empilables pour murets) si le mur de soutènement correspondant est utilisé pour
des charges de faible importance (talus horizontal et surcharge faible) ;
les éléments empilables n’ayant qu’une fonction de parement et qui ne sont par conséquent soumis à
aucune charge (telle que poussée des terres ou charges de trafic) ;
- les parois moulées préfabriquées (palplanches en béton).

Inhalt
Die Nummerierung der Abschnitte (zumindest im Bezug auf die ersten drei Ziffern) richtet sich streng nach
EN 13369:2004 Allgemeine Regeln für Betonfertigteile. Ist ein Abschnitt aus EN 13369:2004 nicht zutreffend
oder in einem allgemeinen Verweis dieser Norm enthalten, entfällt die Nummer. Dies kann zu Lücken in der
Nummerierung führen.
