This European Standard specifies requirements for door coordinator devices for double leaf swing doors fitted with door closers, and includes both separately mounted devices and mechanisms incorporated in door closers. Door coordinator devices are used where it is necessary to ensure the correct sequence of closing of double leaf swing doors, e.g. doors with rebated meeting stiles. Door coordinator devices manufactured in accordance with this European Standard are recommended for use wherever there is a requirement for reliable sequential closing of double leaf swing fire/smoke doors incorporating rebated meeting stiles.

This amendment A1 modifies the European Standard EN 1158:1997; it was approved by CEN on 7 November 2002.
CEN members are bound to comply with the CEN/CENELEC Internal Regulations which stipulate the conditions for inclusion of this
amendment into the relevant national standard without any alteration. Up-to-date lists and bibliographical references concerning such
national standards may be obtained on application to the Management Centre or to any CEN member.
This amendment exists in three official versions (English, French, German). A version in any other language made by translation under the
responsibility of a CEN member into its own language and notified to the Management Centre has the same status as the official versions.
CEN members are the national standards bodies of Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece,

This document (EN 1158:1997/A1:2002) has been prepared by Technical Committee CEN/TC 33 "Doors, windows,
shutters, building hardware and curtain walling", the secretariat of which is held by AFNOR.
This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an identical text or
by endorsement, at the latest by June 2003, and conflicting national standards shall be withdrawn at the latest by
September 2004.
This document has been prepared under a mandate given to CEN by the European Commission and the European
Free Trade Association, and supports essential requirements of EU Directive(s).
For relationship with EU Directive(s) see informative annex ZA, which is an integral part of this document.
According to the CEN/CENELEC Internal Regulations, the national standards organizations of the following
countries are bound to implement this European Standard: Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland,
France, Germany, Greece, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Spain,

Diese Änderung A1 modifiziert die Europäische Norm EN 1158:1997. Sie wurde vom CEN am 7.November 2002 angenommen.
Die CEN-Mitglieder sind gehalten, die CEN/CENELEC-Geschäftsordnung zu erfüllen, in der die Bedingungen festgelegt sind, unter denen
diese Änderung in der betreffenden nationalen Norm, ohne jede Änderung, einzufügen ist. Auf dem letzen Stand befindliche Listen dieser
nationalen Normen mit ihren bibliographischen Angaben sind beim Management-Zentrum oder bei jedem CEN-Mitglied auf Anfrage
erhältlich.
Diese Änderung besteht in drei offiziellen Fassungen (Deutsch, Englisch, Französisch). Eine Fassung in einer anderen Sprache, die von
einem CEN-Mitglied in eigener Verantwortung durch Übersetzung in seine Landessprache gemacht und dem Management-Zentrum

Vorwort
Dieses Dokument EN 1158:1997/A1:2002 wurde vom Technischen Komitee CEN/TC 33 “Schlösser und
Baubeschläge” erarbeitet, dessen Sekretariat vom AFNOR gehalten wird.
Diese Änderung zur Europäischen Norm muss den Status einer nationalen Norm erhalten, entweder durch die
Veröffentlichung eines identischen Textes oder durch Anerkennung bis Juni 2003, und etwaige
entgegenstehende nationale Normen müssen bis September 2004 zurückgezogen werden.
Dieses Dokument wurde unter einem Mandat erarbeitet, das die Europäische Kommission und die Europäische
Freihandelszone dem CEN erteilt haben, und unterstützt die wesentlichen Anforderungen der EU-Richtlinien.
Zum Zusammenhang mit EU-Richtlinien siehe informativen Anhang ZA, der integraler Bestandteil dieses

Dieses Dokument wurde unter einem Mandat erstellt, das die Kommission der Europäischen Gemeinschaft und
das Sekretariat der Europäischen Freihandelszone dem CEN erteilt haben. Sie unterstützt die wesentlichen
Anforderungen der EU-Richtlinie 89/106/EWG.
Einfügen des folgenden neuen vierten Absatzes:
Das Verhältnis zur EU-Richtlinie 89/106/EWG ist aus dem informativen Anhang ZA zu ersehen, der ein
wesentlicher Teil dieser Europäischen Norm ist.
Einfügen des folgenden neuen fünften Absatzes:
Wo auch immer auf Klassen verwiesen wird, sind sie als technische Klassen zu verstehen und nicht als Klassen
gemäß Artikel 3 (2) der Bauproduktenrichtlinie (89/106/EWG).
Der vierte und fünfte Absatz werden gestrichen.
