This document specifies the requirements and test procedures for 360° visibility of reach trucks with a sit-on or stand-on operator (herein after referred to as trucks), without a load with a capacity up to and including 10 000 kg in accordance with ISO 5053-1 and it is intended to be used in conjunction with EN 16842-1.
Where specific requirements in this part are modified from the general requirements in EN 16842-1, the requirements of this part are truck specific and to be used for reach trucks with a sit-on or stand-on operator with a capacity ≤ 10 000 kg.
This part of EN 16842 deals with all significant hazards, hazardous situations or hazardous events, relevant to the visibility of the operator for applicable machines when used as intended and under conditions of misuse which are reasonably foreseeable by the manufacturer.

Dieses Dokument legt die Anforderungen und Prüfverfahren für die Rundumsicht (360°) von Schubstaplern mit sitzendem oder stehendem Fahrer und ohne Last (nachfolgend als „Flurförderzeuge“ bezeichnet) und mit einer Nenntragfähigkeit ≤ 10 000 kg in Übereinstimmung mit ISO 5053 1 fest. Es ist dafür vorgesehen, in Verbindung mit EN 16842 1 angewendet zu werden.
Wenn spezifische Anforderungen in diesem Teil von den allgemeinen Anforderungen in EN 16842 1 abweichen, sind die Anforderungen in diesem Teil für das Flurförderzeug spezifisch und für Schubstapler mit sitzendem oder stehendem Fahrer mit einer Nenntragfähigkeit ≤ 10 000 kg anzuwenden.
Dieser Teil von EN 16842 behandelt alle signifikanten Gefährdungen, Gefährdungssituationen oder Gefährdungsereignisse, die für die Sichtverhältnisse des Bedieners für die betreffenden Maschinen relevant sind, wenn sie bestimmungsgemäß und unter Bedingungen, die vom Hersteller als Fehlanwendung vernünftigerweise vorhersehbar sind, verwendet werden.

Le présent document spécifie les prescriptions et les modes opératoires pour la visibilité sur 360° des chariots retract à conducteur assis ou debout (ci-après désignés chariots) sans charge, ayant une capacité allant jusqu'à 10 000 kg inclus conformes à l’ISO 5053-1, et il est destiné à être utilisé conjointement avec l’EN 16842-1.
Lorsque des prescriptions spécifiques de la présente partie sont modifiées par rapport aux prescriptions générales de l’EN 16842-1, les prescriptions de la présente partie sont spécifiques au chariot et sont à utiliser pour les chariots retract à conducteur assis ou debout ayant une capacité ≤ 10 000 kg.
La présente partie de l’EN 16842 traite de tous les phénomènes dangereux, situations dangereuses ou événements dangereux significatifs relatifs à la visibilité du conducteur pour les machines concernées lorsqu'elles sont utilisées comme prévu et dans des conditions de mauvaise utilisation raisonnablement prévisible par le fabricant.

Ta evropski standard določa zahteve in preskusne postopke za 360-stopinjsko vidno polje voznika pri tovornih vozilih s sedečim ali stoječim upravljavcem in brez tovora (v nadaljevanju »vozilo«) z zmogljivostjo do vključno 10.000 kg v skladu s standardom ISO 5053 1 ter je predviden za uporabo skupaj s standardom FprEN 16842-1.
Kjer so posebne zahteve v tem delu spremenjene tako, da se razlikujejo od splošnih zahtev v standardu FprEN 16842-1, so zahteve iz tega dela posebne zahteve za vozila in se uporabljajo za tovorna vozila s sedečim ali stoječim upravljavcem z zmogljivostjo ≤ 10.000 kg.

This document (EN 16842-3:2018) has been prepared by Technical Committee CEN/TC 150 “Industrial

trucks – Safety”, the secretariat of which is held by BSI.

This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an

identical text or by endorsement, at the latest by June 2019, and conflicting national standards shall be

withdrawn at the latest by June 2019.

Attention is drawn to the possibility that some of the elements of this document may be the subject of

This European Standard is intended to be used in combination with the requirements in EN 16842-1.

EN 16842 consists of the following parts under the general title Powered industrial trucks – Visibility –

capacity;

— Part 4: Industrial variable-reach trucks up to and including 10 000 kg capacity;

— Part 5: Industrial variable-reach trucks greater than 10 000 kg capacity (in preparation);

— Part 6: Sit-on counterbalance trucks and rough terrain masted trucks greater than 10 000 kg

capacity;

— Part 7: Variable-reach and masted container trucks handling freight containers of 6 m (20 ft) length

and longer;

— Part 8: Stand on counterbalance trucks up to and including 10 000 kg capacity (in preparation);

— Part 9: Order-picking, lateral- and front-stacking trucks with elevating operator position

— Part 10: Towing and pushing tractors and burden carriers
It is intended to develop additional parts related to the following machinery:
— Pallet stacking trucks (rider controlled);
— Single side loader;
— Multi-directional forklift truck;
— Articulated counterbalance lift truck;
— Non stacking low lift straddle carriers (as defined in ISO 5053-1:2015, 3.18);
— Stacking high lift straddle carriers (as defined in ISO 5053-1:2015, 3.19).
