Footwear and footwear components - Qualitative test method to assess antifungal activity (growth test) (ISO 19574:2022)

This document specifies a test method (growth test) for the qualitative evaluation of the antifungal activity of footwear and footwear components exposed to the action of filamentous micro-fungi.
This document is only applicable to footwear and components that claim to have antifungal (antimycotic) or antimicrobial treatment effects.

Dieses Dokument legt ein Prüfverfahren (Bewuchstest) zur qualitativen Bewertung der antimykotischen Wirksamkeit von Schuhen und Schuhbestandteilen fest, die der Aktivität von filamentösen Mikropilzen ausgesetzt sind.
Dieses Dokument ist ausschließlich für Schuhe und Schuhbestandteile, für die eine antimykotische (antifungale) oder antimikrobielle Wirkungsweise ausgelobt wird, anzuwenden.
ACHTUNG — Die hier festgelegten Prüfverfahren erfordern die Verwendung von Mikropilzen. Diese Prüfungen dürfen ausschließlich in Einrichtungen mit Eindämmungstechniken für den Umgang mit Mikroorganismen und durch geschultes und mit mikrobiologischen Verfahren vertrautes Personal durchgeführt werden.

This document (EN ISO 19574:2022) has been prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 216
"Footwear" in collaboration with Technical Committee CEN/TC 309 “Footwear” the secretariat of which
is held by UNE.
This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an
identical text or by endorsement, at the latest by August 2022, and conflicting national standards shall
be withdrawn at the latest by August 2022.
