This European Standard specifies the composition, property requirements and dimensional tolerances for copper alloy rod supplied in straight lengths, specifically intended for free machining purposes. The sampling procedures, the methods of test for verification of conformity to the requirements of this standard, and the delivery conditions are also specified.

Diese Europäische Norm legt die Zusammensetzung, die Anforderungen an die Eigenschaften und Grenzabmaße für in geraden Längen gelieferte Stangen aus Kupferlegierungen für die spanende Bearbeitung fest. Der Ablauf der Probenentnahme, die Prüfverfahren zur Feststellung der Übereinstimmung mit den Anforderungen dieser Norm und die Lieferbedingungen sind ebenfalls festgelegt.

La présente norme européenne spécifie la composition, les caractéristiques et les tolérances dimensionnelles des barres en cuivre et alliages de cuivre, livrées en longueurs droites, particulièrement destinées pour le décolletage. Les procédures d'échantillonnage, les méthodes d'essai pour la vérification de la conformité aux prescriptions de la présente norme et les conditions de livraison sont également spécifiées.

Especially for finned tubes according to EN 12452 with high fins, it is suggested to use eddy current test with internal probe as described in this document.
