La présente norme s’applique aux machines fixes de finition des bords et du contour des pierres naturelles. Les machines de finition des bords traitent les bords habituellement bruts de la pièce usinée, avec une ou plusieurs broches munies d’outils de meulage alignés sur le bord de la pièce usinée, de manière synchrone ou asynchrone. Les machines de finition des bords peuvent être à table ou à convoyage.
La présente Norme européenne ne traite pas les phénomènes dangereux significatifs liés au bruit.
La présente Norme européenne ne traite pas :
- les machines à meuler le métal ;
- les machines à meuler le bois ;
- les meuleuses portatives ;
- les machines conçues pour fonctionner dans une atmosphère explosible ;
- les éléments de convoyage amont et aval pour le transport des pièces usinées.
La présente norme traite tous les phénomènes dangereux, situations et événements dangereux significatifs applicables aux machines de finition des bords lorsqu’elles sont utilisées normalement et lorsqu’elles sont utilisées dans des conditions de mauvaise utilisation raisonnablement prévisibles par le constructeur (voir Article 4). La présente norme spécifie les mesures techniques appropriées pour éliminer ou réduire les risques liés aux phénomènes dangereux significatifs.
Le présent document ne s’applique pas aux machines de finition des bords fabriquées avant sa date de publication par le CEN.
