prEN 13279-1: Gypsum binders and gypsum plasters - Part 1: Definitions and requirements 3 Terms and definitions For the purposes of this document, the following terms and definitions apply. 3.1 pit damage in form of superficial fault consisting of a fraction of material detached from the body of the test-sample with a mean dimension of over 7 mm. 3.2 hair crack damage which is deemed to be harmless in form of superficial crack having a width of not more than 0,15 mm. 3.3 nascent crack damage which is deemed to be harmless in form of crack formation at the edge, only crack penetrating slightly into the interior of the test sample. 3.4 surface crack damage caused by crack of more than 0,15 mm width which does not pass through the test sample. 3.5 scaling damage caused by surface raising, nascent chipping, or crack, which initiates damage. 3.6 peeling damage characterised by the loss of part of the superficial layer of the test sample. 3.7 surface damage damage caused by breaking off (detachment) a part of the surface of the test sample; the surface area of the test
