Separator systems for light liquids (e.g. oil and petrol) - Part 1: Principles of product design, performance and testing, marking and quality control

This standard deals with installations for the separation of light liquids (e.g. oil and petrol), i.e. those with a density up to 0.95 g/cm3 from waste water by means of gravity and/or coalescence. The standard is not primarily intended to apply to installations that are required to treat large quantities of trade effluent (e.g., oil refinery effluent). The standard may, however, still be appropriate for this purpose depending on local requirements.

This amendment A1 modifies the European Standard EN 858-1:2002; it was approved by CEN on 14 October 2004.

This document (EN 858-1:2002/A1:2004) has been prepared by Technical Committee CEN/TC 165 “Wastewater
engineering products”, the secretariat of which is held by DIN.
This Amendment to the European Standard EN 858-1:2002 shall be given the status of a national standard, either
by publication of an identical text or by endorsement, at the latest by May 2005, and conflicting national standards
shall be withdrawn at the latest by August 2006.
This document has been prepared under a mandate given to CEN by the European Commission and the European
Free Trade Association, and supports essential requirements of EU Directive(s).
For relationship with EU Directive(s), see informative Annex ZA, which is integral part of this document.
According to the CEN/CENELEC Internal Regulations, the national standards organizations of the following

Foreword
After the first paragraph, add the following:
"This document has been prepared under Mandate M/118 "Wastewater engineering products" given to
CEN/CENELEC by the European Commission and the European Free Trade Association to allow CE marking
under the Construction Products Directive (89/106/EEC).
For relationship with this Directive, see informative Annex ZA, which is an integral part of this standard."
In fifth paragraph, add at appropriate places in alphabetical order the countries "Hungary", "Malta" and "Slovakia".

Clause 2
For ISO 877:1994 change the dated reference into undated.
