Thermal insulating products for building equipment and industrial installations - Determination of trace quantities of water-soluble chloride, fluoride, silicate, sodium ions and pH (ISO 12624:2022)

This document specifies the equipment and procedures for determining trace quantities of the water-soluble chloride, fluoride, silicate and sodium ions in an aqueous extract of the product. It also describes a procedure for the determination of the pH of the aqueous extract. It is applicable to thermal insulating products.
NOTE      The determination of these parameters can be relevant for thermal insulating products intended for application to stainless austenitic steel surfaces. The presence of chloride, fluoride, silicate and sodium ions under certain conditions can influence the risk of stress corrosion cracking. See Annex B for further information on general use of this document.

Dieses Dokument legt die Prüfeinrichtungen und Verfahren zur Bestimmung des Gehalts von wasserlöslichen Chlorid-, Fluorid-, Silikat- und Natrium-Ionen eines wässrigen Extrakts des Produkts fest. Es beschreibt außerdem ein Verfahren zur Bestimmung des pH-Werts des wässrigen Extrakts. Es gilt für Wärmedämmstoffe.
ANMERKUNG   Die Bestimmung dieser Parameter kann für Wärmedämmstoffe relevant sein, die zur Anwendung auf Oberflächen aus austenitischem nichtrostenden Stahl vorgesehen sind. Die Anwesenheit von Chlorid-, Fluorid-, Silikat- und Natrium-Ionen kann unter bestimmten Bedingungen das Risiko der Spannungsrisskorrosion beeinflussen. Siehe Anhang B für weitere Informationen zur allgemeinen Anwendung dieses Dokuments.

Le présent document spécifie les équipements nécessaires et les modes opératoires à suivre pour déterminer les faibles quantités d’ions chlorure, fluorure, silicate et sodium solubles dans l’eau, ainsi que le pH d’un extrait aqueux du produit. Il s’applique aux produits isolants thermiques.
NOTE          La détermination de ces paramètres peut s’appliquer aux produits isolants thermiques appliqués sur des surfaces d’acier inoxydable austénitique. La présence d’ions chlorure, fluorure, silicate et sodium sous certaines conditions peut avoir une influence sur les risques de fissuration par corrosion sous contrainte. Ta standard določa opremo in postopke za ugotavljanje sledi vodotopnih kloridnih, fluoridnih, silikatnih in natrijevih ionov v vodnem ekstraktu proizvoda. Opisuje tudi postopek za ugotavljanje vrednosti pH vodnega ekstrakta. Standard se uporablja za toplotnoizolacijske proizvode.
OPOMBA: Ugotavljanje teh parametrov je lahko relevantno za toplotnoizolacijske proizvode, namenjene za uporabo pri površinah iz avstenitnega nerjavnega jekla. Prisotnost kloridnih, fluoridnih, silikatnih in natrijevih ionov pod določenimi pogoji lahko vpliva na tveganje pokanja zaradi napetostne korozije. This document (EN ISO 12624:2022) has been prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 163 "Thermal
performance and energy use in the built environment" in collaboration with Technical Committee
CEN/TC 88 “Thermal insulating materials and products” the secretariat of which is held by DIN.
This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an
identical text or by endorsement, at the latest by March 2023, and conflicting national standards shall
be withdrawn at the latest by September 2025.
