Refractory products - Determination of refractoriness under load - Differential method with rising temperature (ISO 1893:2007)

ISO 1893:2007 specifies a method for determining the deformation of dense and insulating shaped refractory products, when subjected to a constant load under conditions of progressively rising temperature (or refractoriness under load), by a differential method. The test may be carried out up to a maximum temperature of 1700 °C.

Diese Internationale Norm legt ein Verfahren zur Bestimmung der Verformung von dichten feuerfesten
Erzeugnissen und geformten feuerfesten Erzeugnissen für Wärmedämmzwecke fest, die bei einer
gleichmäßig steigenden Temperatur einem konstanten Druck (Druckerweichen) unterworfen und mittels eines
Differentialverfahrens bewertet werden. Die Bestimmung ist bis zu einer Höchsttemperatur von 1 700 °C
anwendbar.

L'ISO 1893:2007 spécifie une méthode qui permet de déterminer la déformation des produits réfractaires façonnés denses et isolants qui sont soumis à une charge constante dans des conditions d'élévation progressive de la température (détermination de l'affaissement sous charge), par une méthode différentielle. L'essai peut être réalisé jusqu'à une température maximale de 1 700 °C.

The text of ISO 1893:2007 has been prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 33 “Refractories” of the
International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and has been taken over as EN ISO 1893:2008 by
Technical Committee CEN/TC 187 “Refractory products and materials” the secretariat of which is held by BSI.
This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an identical
text or by endorsement, at the latest by December 2008, and conflicting national standards shall be withdrawn
at the latest by December 2008.
Attention is drawn to the possibility that some of the elements of this document may be the subject of patent
rights. CEN [and/or CENELEC] shall not be held responsible for identifying any or all such patent rights.
This document supersedes EN 993-8:1997.
