Analysis of natural gas - Biomethane - Determination of ammonia content by Tuneable Diode Laser Absorption Spectroscopy (ISO 2612:2023)

This document describes several test methods for measuring the ammonia amount fraction in natural gas and biomethane at the trace level (µmol mol-1). The suitable handling and sampling of pressurised mixtures of ammonia in methane that are applied to several different ammonia measurement systems are described. The measurement systems are comprised of readily available commercial spectroscopic analysers that are specific to ammonia. These NH3 analysers are considered as a black box in terms of their operation, which is dependent on the instructions of the manufacturer. The document describes suitable calibration and measurement strategies to quantify ammonia in (bio)methane around and above the 10 mg m-3 (14 µmol mol-1) level and applies to analysis within absolute pressure ranges of 1 bar – 2 bar, temperatures of 0 °C – 40 °C and relative humidity <90 %.
References are also made to additional standards that are applied either to natural gas analysis or air quality measurements. In this document the matrix gas is always methane or biomethane and the measurand is the amount fraction NH3.

Dieses Dokument beschreibt mehrere Prüfverfahren zum Messen des Ammoniakstoffmengenanteils in Erdgas und Biomethan im Spurenbereich (µmol mol−1). Die geeignete Handhabung und Probenahme von druckbeaufschlagten Gemischen von Ammoniak in Methan, die auf mehrere verschiedene Ammoniakmesseinrichtungen angewendet werden, sind beschrieben. Die Messeinrichtungen bestehen aus fertig im Handel erhältlichen spektroskopischen Analysatoren, die spezifisch für Ammoniak sind. Diese NH3 Analysatoren gelten als eine Black Box bezüglich ihres Betriebs, der von den Anweisungen des Herstellers abhängig ist. Das Dokument beschreibt geeignete Kalibrier- und Messstrategien zum Quantifizieren von Ammoniak in (Bio)Methan um und über einem Niveau von 10 mg m−3 (14 µmol mol−1) und ist anwendbar für eine Analyse innerhalb von Absolutdruckbereichen von 1 bar bis 2 bar, bei Temperaturen von 0 °C bis 40 °C und bei einer relativen Luftfeuchte von < 90 %.
Es sind ebenfalls Verweisungen auf zusätzliche Normen enthalten, die auf die Erdgasanalyse oder auf Luftqualitätsmessungen angewendet werden. In diesem Dokument ist das Matrixgas immer Methan oder Biomethan und die Messgröße ist der Stoffmengenanteil NH3.

Le présent document décrit plusieurs méthodes d'essai permettant de mesurer la fraction molaire d'ammoniac dans le gaz naturel et le biométhane à l'état de traces (µmol mol−1). Il décrit la manipulation et l'échantillonnage appropriés de mélanges sous pression d'ammoniac dans le méthane appliqués à plusieurs systèmes de mesure de l'ammoniac différents. Les systèmes de mesure comprennent des analyseurs par spectroscopie commerciaux facilement disponibles qui sont spécifiques à l'ammoniac. Ces analyseurs de NH3 sont considérés comme une boîte noire en ce qui concerne leur fonctionnement, qui dépend des instructions du fabricant. Le présent document décrit les stratégies d'étalonnage et de mesurage appropriées pour la quantification de l'ammoniac dans le (bio)méthane aux environs et au-dessus du niveau de 10 mg m−3 (14 µmol mol−1) et s'applique à l'analyse dans des plages de pression absolue de 1 bar à 2 bar, des températures de 0 °C à 40 °C et une humidité relative < 90 %.

Ta dokument opisuje nekatere preskusne metode za merjenje deleža količine amoniaka v zemeljskem plinu
in biometanu pri vrednosti v sledovih (μmol mol-1). Opisani so postopki ustreznega ravnanja in vzorčenja
zmesi amoniaka in metana pod pritiskom, ki se uporabljajo v različnih sistemih za merjenje
amoniaka. Merilne sisteme sestavljajo na trgu vedno dostopni spektroskopski
analizatorji, ki so specifični za merjenje amoniaka. Ti analizatorji amoniaka (NH3) se obravnavajo kot črne skrinjice v smislu
