EN 50306-2 specifies requirements for, and constructions and dimensions of, single core cables, rated 300 V to earth, of the following type: Unscreened (0,5 mm2 to 2,5 mm2 single core) All cables have stranded tinned copper conductors and thin wall thickness, halogen-free insulation. They are for use in railway rolling stock as fixed wiring, or wiring where limited flexing in operation is encountered. The requirements provide for a continuous operational life at 105 °C, and a maximum temperature for short-circuit conditions of 160 °C based on a duration of 5 seconds. NOTE 1 Where these single core cables are used as components of sheathed cables, the temperature for continuous operational life depends upon the type of sheath system used. Sheath systems for either 90 °C for 105 °C are defined in other parts of EN 50306. Under fire conditions the cables exhibit special performance characteristics in respect of maximum permissible flame propagation (flame spread) and maximum permissible emission of smoke and toxic gases. These requirements are specified to permit the cables to satisfy Hazard Levels 2, 3 or 4 of EN 45545-11). NOTE 2 Requirements for the emission of smoke and gases are not specified for cables used for Hazard Level 1 of EN 45545-1. NOTE 3 EN 45545-1 is still under development and should be consulted. EN 50306-2 should be used in conjunction with EN 50306-1, General requirements.

Teil 2 der EN 50306 legt Anforderungen, Aufbau und Maße von einadrigen Kabeln und Leitun¬gen mit einer Nennspannung von 300 V gegen Erde für folgende Bauarten fest: Ungeschirmt (0,5 mm2 to 2,5 mm2 einadrig) Alle Kabel und Leitungen haben verzinnte Kupferlitzenleiter und halogenfreie Isolierhüllen mit reduzierten Wanddicken. Sie sind bestimmt für die feste Verlegung in Schienenfahrzeugen oder für eine Verlegung, bei der im Betrieb eine begrenzte Wechselbiege-Beanspruchung auftritt. Die Anforderungen sehen einen fortlaufenden Dauerbetrieb bei 105 °C und eine höchst¬zulässige Temperatur unter Kurzschlußbedingungen, bezogen auf eine Dauer von 5 s, von 160 °C vor. ANMERKUNG 1 Werden die einadrigen Kabel und Leitungen als Bauelemente ummantelter Kabel und Leitungen verwendet, ist die Temperatur für den Dauerbetrieb abhängig von dem verwendeten Mantel¬system. In anderen Teilen der EN 50306 sind Mantelsysteme für 90 °C oder 105 °C definiert. Diese Kabel und Leitungen zeigen im Brandfall besondere Leistungsmerkmale hinsichtlich der zulässigen Flammenfortleitung (Flammenausbreitung) und der höchstzulässigen Entwicklung von Rauch und toxischen Gasen. Diese Anforderungen sind festgelegt, um zu zeigen, dass die Leitungen die Gefahrenniveaus 2, 3 oder 4 der EN 45545-1 1) erfüllen. ANMERKUNG 2 Für Kabel und Leitungen, die für das Gefahrenniveau 1 der EN 45541-1 eingesetzt werden, sind keine Anforderungen an die Emission von Rauch und Gas festgelegt. ANMERKUNG 3 EN 45545-1 (in der Entwicklung) sollte in Betracht gezogen werden. Teil 2 der EN 50306 sollte in Verbindung mit Teil 1 "Allgemeine Anforderungen" verwendet werden.

La EN 50306-2 définit les prescriptions et les dispositions constructives et dimensionnelles des conducteurs, de tension assignée 300 V entre âme et terre, du type suivant: Non blindé: conducteurs de 0,5 mm2 à 2,5 mm2 Tous les câbles sont constitués d'âmes câblées en cuivre étamé et d'une enveloppe isolante sans halogènes d'épaisseur mince. Ils sont destinés aux câblages fixes, ou aux câblages dont les flexions en service sont limitées, dans le matériel roulant ferroviaire. Les spécifications prévoient une température en régime permanent de 105 °C et une température maximale de 160 °C pendant 5 s en cas de court-circuit. NOTE 1 Lorsque les conducteurs sont utilisés dans la construction de câbles sous gaine, la température de régime permanent est fonction du type de gaine utilisé. Les gaines spécifiques aux températures de 90 °C ou de 105 °C sont définies dans d'autres parties de la EN 50306. Lorsqu'ils sont soumis au feu, les câbles respectent les limites maximales spécifiques concernant la propagation de la flamme et l'émission de fumées et de gaz toxiques. Ces prescriptions permettent aux câbles de satisfaire aux niveaux de risque 2, 3 ou 4 de la EN 45545-1 1). NOTE 2 Les prescriptions relatives aux émissions de fumées et de gaz ne sont pas imposées pour les câbles du niveau de risque 1 de la EN 45545-1.
