Alarm systems - Social alarm systems - Part 3: Local unit and controller
This standard specifies the requirements and tests for local units and controllers forming part of a social alarm system. This standard applies to local units and controllers that receive an alarm triggering signal from manually or automatically activated trigger devices and convert this into an alarm signal for transmission to the alarm receiving centre or an alarm recipient. The local unit and controller are either separate units or integrated into one unit. This standard does not specify EMC emission or electrical safety requirements. These are covered by other standards.

La présente norme spécifie les exigences et les essais destinés aux unités locales et aux contrôleurs constituant une partie d’un système d’alarme sociale. La présente norme s’applique aux unités locales et aux contrôleurs recevant un signal de déclenchement d’alarme provenant d’un déclencheur activé manuellement ou automatiquement, et convertissant ce signal en un signal d’alarme destiné à un centre de réception d’alarme ou au destinataire de l’alarme. L’unité locale et le contrôleur sont des unités distinctes ou intégrées en une seule unité. Cette norme ne spécifie pas les exigences en matières d’émission CEM, ni de sécurité électrique. Ces exigences sont couvertes par d’autres normes.

Foreword
This European Standard was prepared by the CENELEC Technical Committee 79 : Alarm
systems.
The text of the draft was submitted to the formal vote and was approved by CENELEC as
EN 50134-3 on 2000-04-01.
The following dates were fixed :
- latest date by which the EN has to be implemented
at national level by publication of an identical
national standard or by endorsement (dop) 2002-02-01
- latest date by which the national standards conflicting
with the EN have to be withdrawn (dow) 2003-04-01
Annexes designated "normative" are part of the body of the standard.
In this standard, annexes A and B are normative.
EN 50134 will consist of the following parts, under the general title “Alarm systems - Social
alarm systems :
