Elle définit les termes normalisés, les procédures d'inspection et les méthodes d'essai utilisés dans les spécifications intermédiaires et particulières des composants électroniques dans le cadre de l'assurance de qualité, ainsi qu'à d'autres fins.

The text of document 40/1640/FDIS, future edition 1 of IEC 62391-1, prepared by IEC TC 40, Capacitors
and resistors for electronic equipment, was submitted to the IEC-CENELEC parallel vote and was
approved by CENELEC as EN 62391-1 on 2006-05-01.
The following dates were fixed:
– latest date by which the EN has to be implemented
at national level by publication of an identical
(dop) 2007-02-01
national standard or by endorsement
– latest date by which the national standards conflicting
(dow) 2009-05-01
with the EN have to be withdrawn
Annex ZA has been added by CENELEC.
