1.1 Product definition This document contains the initial, start of life dimensional, mechanical and environmental performance requirements which an unprotected microduct are expected to meet. 1.2 Operating environment The tests selected combined with the severities and duration are representative of an outside plant for subterranean and/or aerial environment defined by: — ETS 300 019 class 8.1 - underground locations (without earthquake requirement); — EN IEC 61753 1 - category A (aerial environment) and category S (subterranean environment). 1.3 Quality assurance Compliance with this document does not guarantee the manufacturing consistency of the product. This is expected to be maintained using a recognized quality assurance programme. 1.4 Allowed product types This document covers all European Standards on optical fibre unprotected microducts. This includes, but is not limited to, EN 60794 5, Optical fibre cables - Part 5: Sectional specification - Microduct cabling for installation by blowing. 1.5 Allowed microduct connector types This microduct standard allows the use of all European Standard microduct connectors, including: straight, reducer/enlarger stem, reducer/enlarger, close down, liquid block, liquid block with barb end, and end stop connectors. This includes EN 50411 2 8, Fibre organizers and closures to be used in optical fibre communication systems - Product specifications - Part 2-8: Microduct connectors, for air blown optical fibres, Type 1.

1.1 Définition du produit Le présent document contient les exigences de performances initiales, dimensionnelles, mécaniques et environnementales, de début de vie, attendues d’un microconduit non protégé. 1.2 Environnement de fonctionnement Les essais sélectionnés, leurs sévérités et leurs durées sont représentatifs d’un site extérieur dans un environnement souterrain et/ou aérien défini par: — la classe 8.1 de l’ETS 300 019 - environnement souterrain (sans exigences concernant les tremblements de terre); — la catégorie A (environnement aérien) et la catégorie S (environnement sous-terrain) de l’EN IEC 61753 1. 1.3 Assurance de la qualité La conformité au présent document ne garantit pas la cohérence de fabrication du produit. Il est attendu qu’elle soit suivie au moyen d’un programme reconnu d’assurance de la qualité. 1.4 Types de produits autorisés Le présent document vient en complément de toutes les Normes européennes portant sur les microconduits non protégés pour fibres optiques. Il complète notamment, sans y être limité, l’EN 60794 5, Câbles à fibres optiques - Partie 5: Spécification intermédiaire - Câblage en micro-conduits pour installation par soufflage. 1.5 Types de connecteurs de microconduits autorisés La présente norme sur les microconduits permet de compléter toutes les Normes européennes sur les connecteurs de microconduits, y compris: les connecteurs droits, avec réduction/agrandissement, à réducteurs/agrandisseurs, à fermeture, à blocage par liquide, à blocage par liquide à extrémité cannelée et à butée. Elle complète l’EN 50411 2 8, Organiseurs et boîtiers de fibres à utiliser dans les systèmes de communication par fibres optiques – Spécifications de produits – Partie 2-8: Connecteurs en microconduits de Type 1, destinés aux fibres optiques soufflées à l’air comprimé.
