Ta del standarda IEC 62054 določa posebne zahteve za tipsko preskušanje novo proizvedenih notranjih časovnih stikal z delovno rezervo, ki se uporabljajo za krmiljenje električnih obremenitev, večtarifnih registrov in indikatorjev maksimuma, za opremo za merjenje električne energije.
Časovno stikalo ohranja realni čas, lahko tudi datum, morda lahko upošteva prestopna leta, podpira poletni čas, tj. prilagodi odstopanje lokalnega časa glede na GMT v skladu z ustreznimi predpisi. Časovno stikalo lahko vključuje zmogljivost sinhronizacije.
Časovno stikalo vsebuje tudi razpored preklopov, ki se lahko določijo glede na čas, dan v tednu in datum v mesecu ali letu. Časovno stikalo nadzoruje izhodne elemente glede na čas in razpored shranjenih preklopov.
V tem standardu niso podane zahteve za konstrukcijske podrobnosti časovnega stikala.
Kadar je funkcija časovnega stikala vgrajena v večfunkcijsko opremo za merjenje električne energije, se uporabljajo ustrezni deli tega standarda.
Ta standard zajema časovna stikala z analognimi mehanskimi številčnicami ali elektronskimi digitalnimi zasloni, ki so:
– sinhroni; ali
– kristalni.
Ta standard ne obravnava preskusov sprejemljivosti in skladnosti. Kljub temu je primer preskusa sprejemljivosti podan v dodatku A.
Vidik zanesljivosti je zajet v dokumentih iz skupine standardov IEC 62059.
Pri uporabi tega standarda skupaj s standardom IEC 62052-21 imajo zahteve tega standarda prednost pred zahtevami standarda IEC 62052-21 glede katerega koli elementa, ki ga že obravnava.

The text of document 13/1308/FDIS, future edition 1 of IEC 62054-21, prepared by IEC TC 13,
Equipment for electrical energy measurement and load control, was submitted to the IEC-CENELEC
parallel vote and was approved by CENELEC as EN 62054-21 on 2004-07-06.
This standard, in conjunction with EN 62052-21, supersedes EN 61038:1992 + A1:1996 + A2:1998.
This standard is to be used in conjunction with EN 62052-21 and the relevant parts of the EN 62059
series.
The following dates were fixed:
– latest date by which the EN has to be implemented
at national level by publication of an identical
national standard or by endorsement (dop) 2005-05-01
– latest date by which the national standards conflicting
with the EN have to be withdrawn (dow) 2007-07-01
This European Standard has been prepared under a mandate given to CENELEC by the European
Commission and the European Free Trade Association and covers essential requirements of
EC Directive(s). See Annex ZZ.
