Connectors for electronic equipment - Part 7-2: Detail specification for 8-way, unshielded, free and fixed connectors, for data transmissions with frequencies up to 100 MHz

Covers 8-way, unshielded, free and fixed connectors, and specifies mechanical and environmental requirements, and electrical transmission requirements for frequencies up to 100 MHz. These connectors are typically used as category 5 connectors in class D cabling systems specified in ISO/IEC 11801:2002. These connectors are intermateable, interoperable, and backward compatible with other IEC 60603-7 series connectors.

Couvre les fiches et les embases non blindées à 8 voies et spécifie les exigences mécaniques et environnementales ainsi que les exigences de transmission électrique pour des fréquences jusqu'à 100 MHz. Ces connecteurs sont normalement utilisés comme connecteurs de catégorie 5 dans les systèmes de câblage de classe D spécifiés dans l'ISO/CEI 11801:2002. Ils sont accouplables, interopérables et offrent une compatibilité amont avec les autres connecteurs de la série CEI 60603-7.

Ta del IEC 60603 zajema 8-polne, neščitene, proste in fiksne končnike ter določa mehanske in okoljske zahteve ter zahteve za prevajanje električnega toka za frekvence do 100 MHz. Ti končniki se praviloma uporabljajo kot končniki kategorije 5 v kabelskih sistemih razreda D, ki jih opredeljuje ISO/IEC 11801:2002. Ti končniki so medsebojno združljivi, interoperabilni in vzvratno združljivi z drugimi konektorji serije IEC 60603-7. Definicijo interoperabilnosti obravnava IEC, v tem standardu pa »interoperabilen« pomeni naslednje: fiksni in prosti končnik se lahko poveže s katerimkoli končnikom serije IEC 60603-7 in pri takšni povezavi v vseh pogledih izpolnjuje zahteve standarda serije IEC 60603-7 za nižje frekvence.

The text of document 48B/1740/FDIS, future edition 1 of IEC 60603-7-2, prepared by SC 48B,
Connectors, of IEC TC 48, Electromechanical components and mechanical structures for electronic
equipment, was submitted to the IEC-CENELEC parallel vote and was approved by CENELEC as
EN 60603-7-2 on 2009-09-01.
The following dates were fixed:
– latest date by which the EN has to be implemented
at national level by publication of an identical
national standard or by endorsement (dop) 2010-06-01
– latest date by which the national standards conflicting
with the EN have to be withdrawn (dow) 2012-09-01
Annex ZA has been added by CENELEC.
