Ta del IEC 62660 določa učinkovitost in preskušanje življenjske dobe sekundarnih litij-ionskih členov, ki se uporabljajo za pogon električnih vozil, vključno z baterijskimi električnimi vozili (BEV) in hibridnimi električnimi vozili (HEV). Namen tega standarda je določiti preskusne postopke, s katerimi se pridobijo bistvene značilnosti litij-ionskih členov za uporabo pri pogonu vozil, ki se nanašajo na kapaciteto, gostoto moči, gostoto energije, skladiščno dobo in življenjsko dobo cikla. Ta standard zagotavlja standardne preskusne postopke in pogoje za preskušanje osnovnih značilnosti delovanja litij-ionskih členov za uporabo pri pogonu vozil, ki so nepogrešljive pri zagotavljanju osnovne ravni učinkovitosti in pridobivanju bistvenih podatkov o členih za različne zasnove baterijskih sistemov in kompletov baterij.

FOREWORD
1) The International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) is a worldwide organization for standardization comprising
all national electrotechnical committees (IEC National Committees). The object of IEC is to promote
international co-operation on all questions concerning standardization in the electrical and electronic fields. To
