Zahteve tega dela standarda IEC 60364 veljajo za fiksne električne instalacije znotraj in zunaj prostorov, namenjenih kmetijstvu in vrtnarstvu. Nekatere od teh zahtev veljajo tudi za druge lokacije v skupnih zgradbah, ki so del prostorov, namenjenih kmetijstvu in vrtnarstvu. Prostori, lokacije in površine za gospodinjsko uporabo ipd. v tem standardu niso obravnavani. The particular requirements of this part of IEC 60364 apply to electrical installations in medical locations so as to provide safety of patients and medical staff. These requirements refer to: - hospitals and clinics or equivalent institutions (including equivalent transportable and mobile locations); which, subject to assessment (710.30), can also include: - sanatoriums and health clinics; - dedicated locations in homes for senior citizens and aged care homes, where patients receive medical care; - medical centres, outpatients' clinics and departments, casualty wards; - other outpatients' institutions (industrial, sports and others); - medical and dental practices; - dedicated medical rooms in the workplace; - other locations where medical electrical equipment is used; - veterinary clinics; - rooms in existing installations where a change of utilization for medical applications occur. This list is not exhaustive. The requirements of this document do not apply to ME equipment or ME systems. NOTE 1 Medical ME equipment and ME systems are covered by IEC 60601 (all parts). NOTE 2 In the USA, the requirements of NFPA 70®, National Electrical Code® in general and specifically article 517 (Healthcare Facilities) apply.

IEC 60364-7-701:2019 applies to electrical installations in indoor or outdoor locations where a bath tub and/or a shower is intended to be permanently placed in a specific location. The extent of the location containing a bath tub and/or a shower is limited by: – the lowest finished floor level; – a horizontal plane 3 m above the lowest finished floor level; – a vertical circumscribing virtual surface at a distance of 4 m from the fixed water outlet for the bath tub or shower; and – the volume within the walls, floor and ceiling that border the location containing a bath or shower, measured to a depth of 6 cm. The requirements of this document also apply to fixed electrical installations in mobile applications, for example caravans, mobile homes, shower containers. This document does not apply to emergency facilities, for example emergency showers used in industrial areas or laboratories. This third edition cancels and replaces the second edition published in 2006. This edition constitutes a technical revision. This edition includes the following significant technical changes with respect to the previous edition: – the scope gives precisions relevant to the application of this document; – the description of zones is improved; – relevant terms are defined.

IEC 60364-7-716:2023 specifies requirements in electrical installations for the distribution of ELV DC power using balanced, information technology cables and accessories primarily designed for data transmission, as specified in terms of a category within the channels of ISO/IEC 11801-1 using power sourcing equipment in accordance with IEC 62368-3. Requirements are included for the design, erection, and verification of telecommunications infrastructure for the purpose of both telecommunications and distribution of ELV DC power. In addition, requirements are included for use of existing telecommunications infrastructure for distribution of ELV DC power. The power delivery systems include, but are not restricted to, the Power over Ethernet systems specified by IEEE 802.3. This document does not apply to the use of cables and accessories within the core and access networks for example private branch exchange (PBX).

IEC 60364-5-54:2011 addresses the earthing arrangements and protective conductors including protective bonding conductors in order to satisfy the safety of the electrical installation. This third edition cancels and replaces the second edition, published in 2002, and constitutes a technical revision. The main changes with respect to the previous edition are listed below: - clarification of the definition of protective conductor; - improved specification of mechanical characteristics of the earth electrode; - introduction of earth electrode for protection against electric shock and lighting protection; - annexes describing concrete-embedded foundation earth electrodes and soil-embedded earth electrode. IEC 60364-5-54:2011 has the status of a basic safety publication in accordance with IEC Guide 104. This document also includes requirements regarding earthing and equipotential bonding for information and communication technology (ICT) with the aim of: - reducing the risk of electrical hazards for correct operation of these devices and the information and communication technology wiring; - providing the telecommunication systems with a reliable signal reference plane that can improve resistance to electromagnetic interference (EMI) by reference to ISO/IEC 30129. NOTE Examples of information and communication technology (ICT) include: - DC supply networks (and systems) for supplying power to ICT equipment within a building; - star-shaped private automatic branch exchanges (PABX) or their equipment; - local area (communication) networks (LANs); - fire and intruder alarms communication systems; - building automation systems, e.g. direct digital control systems; - systems for computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) and other computer-aided services; - broadcast and communication technology.

The particular requirements do not apply to: - onshore installations dedicated to supply inland navigation vessels for commercial and administrative purpose; NOTE 1 Such requirements are defined in HD 60364-7-730. - shore connection systems dedicated to ships that require, to prevent blackout, synchronisation of their power generation with the shore power supply, NOTE 2 Such requirements are defined in IEC/ISO/IEEE 80005-3. - internal electrical installations of ships; - the supply of houseboats when they are directly supplied from the public network; - the supply of anchored ships; - the supply of ships in dry docks; - the supply of ships by on-shore stand-alone generating sets. For the remainder of the electrical installation and for the electrical installations of houseboats, the general requirements of HD 60364 series together with the relevant particular requirements of HD 60364-7 apply.
