Foreword
IS0 (the International Organization for Standardization) is a worldwide
federation of national standards bodies (IS0 member bodies). The work
of preparing International Standards is normally carried out through IS0
technical committees. Each member body interested in a subject for
which a technical committee has been established has the right to be
represented on that committee. International organizations, governmental
and non-governmental, in liaison with ISO, also take part in the work. IS0
collaborates closely with the International Eiectrotechnical Commission
(IEC) on all matters of electrotechnical standardization.
Draft International Standards adopted by the technical committees are
circulated to the member bodies for voting. Publication as an International
Standard requires approval by at least 75 % of the member bodies casting
a vote.
International Standard IS0 6107-l was prepared by Technical Committee
lSO/TC 147, W ’ater quality, Subcommittee SC 1, Terminology.
This third edition cancels and replaces the second edition
(IS0 6107-I :I 986) which has been technically revised.
IS0 6107 consists of eight parts, under the general title Water quality -
Vocabulary. The different parts do not have individual titles.
Annex A of this part of IS0 6107 is for information only.

I ’ISO).
comites techniques de I ’ISO.
technique lSO/TC 147, Qua/it& de l ’eau, sous-comite SC I I Terminologie.
(IS0 6107-I :I 986), qui a fait I ’objet d ’une revision technique.
de I ’eau - Vocabulaire.
individuels.
L ’an nexe A de la presente partie de I ’ISO 6107 est donnee u nique ment a

The definitions in this vocabulary have been formulated to provide
standardized terminology for the characterization of water quality. Terms
included in this vocabulary may be identical to those contained in vo-
cabularies published by other international organizations, but the defi-
nitions may differ because they have been drafted for different objectives.

Avant-propos
I ’ISO).
comites techniques de I ’ISO.
technique lSO/TC 147, Qua/it& de l ’eau, sous-comite SC I I Terminologie.
(IS0 6107-I :I 986), qui a fait I ’objet d ’une revision technique.
de I ’eau - Vocabulaire.
individuels.
L ’an nexe A de la presente partie de I ’ISO 6107 est donnee u nique ment a
