FOREWORD
IS0 (the International Organization for Standardization) is a worldwide federation
of national standards institutes (IS0 Member Bodies). The work of developing
International Standards is carried out through IS0 Technical Committees. Every
Member Body interested in a subject for which a Technical Committee has been set
up has the right to be represented on that Committee. International organizations,
governmental and non-governmental, in liaison with ISO, also take part in the work.
I
Draft International Standards adopted by the Technical Committees are circulated
to the Member Bodies for approval before their acceptance as International
Standards by the IS0 Council.
Prior to 1972, the results of the work of the Technical Committees were published
as IS0 Recommendations; these documents are now in the process of being
transformed into International Standards. As part of this process, Technical
Committee ISO/TC 110 has reviewed IS0 Recommendation R 1074 and found it
technically suitable for transformation. International Standard IS0 1074 therefore
replaces IS0 Recommendation R 1074-1969 to which it is technically identical.

ISO 1074:1975 is a standard that provides guidelines for performing basic stability tests on counterbalanced lift trucks, which are commonly used in industries for lifting and moving heavy loads. The tests described in the standard assess the stability of the lift truck under various conditions, such as stationary, traveling, and lifting loads. The standard includes criteria for measuring the tipping angles and stability limits of the lift truck. It also outlines the procedures for conducting the tests, including the measurement of load moments, the calculation of stability margins, and the use of test equipment. Compliance with ISO 1074:1975 helps ensure the safe and efficient operation of counterbalanced lift trucks in industrial settings.
The article discusses ISO 1074:1975, which is a standard for counterbalanced lift trucks and their stability. The standard consists of basic tests that are used to assess the stability of these trucks. The tests include evaluating the tilt angle, forward and lateral stability, and overturning speed of the trucks. ISO 1074:1975 helps ensure that lift trucks are safe and stable in their operations, reducing the risk of accidents and injuries.
