Documentation — Numbering of divisions and subdivisions in written documents

Applies to all kinds of written documents, for example manuscripts, printed works, books, journal articles, directions for use and standards. Numbering of divisions and subdivisions is advocated if this - clarifies the sequence, importance and interrelation of individual divisions and subdivisions; - simplifies search and retrieval of certain passages in the text; - makes possible the citation of single parts of the text; - facilitates references within a written work.

Ta mednarodni standard določa sistem številčenja oddelkov in pododdelkov v pisnih dokumentih. Uporablja se v vseh vrstah pisnih dokumentov, kot so na primer rokopisi, tiskana dela, knjige, članki v časopisih, navodila za uporabo in standardi. Oddelki in pododdelki se v pisnih dokumentih številčijo zaradi:
– označitve zaporedja, pomembnosti in medsebojne odvisnosti oddelkov in pododdelkov;
– olajšanja iskanja in preiskovanja določenih oddelkov v besedilu ter omogočanja citiranja njegovih posameznih delov;
– olajšanja sklicevanja na dele v pisnem dokumentu.

FOREWORD
ISO (the International Organization for Standardization) is a worldwide federation
of national Standards institutes (ISO member bodies). The work of developing
International Standards is carried out through ISO technical committees. Ever\/
member body interested in a subject for which a technical committee has been set
up has the right to be represented on that committee. International organization;,
governmental and non-governmental, in liaison with ISO, also take part in the work.
Draft International Standards adopted by the technical committees are circulated
to the member bodies for approval before their acceptance as International
Standards by the ISO Council.
International Standard ISO 2145 was developed by Technical Committee
I SO/TC 46, Documen ta tion.
This second edition was submitted directly to the ISO Council, in accordance
with clause 6.13.1 of the Directives for the technical work of ISO. lt cancels and
replaces the first edition (i.e. ISO 2145~1972), which had been approved by the
member bodies of the following countries :

NACIONALNI UVOD
Standard SIST ISO 2145 (sl), Dokumentacija – Številčenje oddelkov in pododdelkov v pisnih
dokumentih, 1996, ima status slovenskega standarda in je istoveten mednarodnemu standardu ISO
2145 (en), Documentation – Numbering of divisions and subdivisions in written documents, 1978-12-
15.
NACIONALNI PREDGOVOR
Mednarodni standard ISO 2145:1978 je pripravil tehnični odbor Mednarodne organizacije za
standardizacijo ISO/TC 46 Informatika in dokumentacija. Slovenski standard SIST ISO 2145:1996 je
prevod mednarodnega standarda ISO 2145:1978. V primeru spora glede besedila slovenskega
prevoda je odločilen izvirni mednarodni standard v angleškem jeziku. Slovenski standard SIST ISO
2145:1996 je pripravil tehnični odbor SIST/TC IDT Informatika, dokumentacija in splošna
terminologija.
Odločitev za izdajo tega standarda je dne 29. 3. 2010 sprejel SIST/TC IDT.
OSNOVA ZA IZDAJO STANDARDA
– Privzem standarda ISO 2145:1978

OPOMBI
– Povsod, kjer se v besedilu standarda uporablja izraz “mednarodni standard”, v
SIST ISO 2145:1996 to pomeni “slovenski standard”.
– Nacionalni uvod in nacionalni predgovor nista sestavni del standarda.
