ISO 16156:2004 sets out the requirements and/or measures to remove the hazards and limit the risk on work holding chucks. It covers all the hazards relevant to this component. The requirements concern designers, manufacturers, suppliers and importers of work holding chucks. It also includes information which the manufacturer shall provide for the user. It is primarily directed to components which are manufactured after its date of issue.

Elle traite de tous les risques applicables à ce composant. Les prescriptions s'adressent aux concepteurs, aux constructeurs, aux fournisseurs et aux importateurs de mandrins porte-pièces. Elle comprend aussi les informations que le constructeur doit fournir à l'utilisateur. Elle est applicable avant tout aux mandrins fabriqués après sa date de publication.

Foreword
ISO (the International Organization for Standardization) is a worldwide federation of national standards bodies
(ISO member bodies). The work of preparing International Standards is normally carried out through ISO
technical committees. Each member body interested in a subject for which a technical committee has been
established has the right to be represented on that committee. International organizations, governmental and
non-governmental, in liaison with ISO, also take part in the work. ISO collaborates closely with the
International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) on all matters of electrotechnical standardization.
International Standards are drafted in accordance with the rules given in the ISO/IEC Directives, Part 2.
The main task of technical committees is to prepare International Standards. Draft International Standards
adopted by the technical committees are circulated to the member bodies for voting. Publication as an
International Standard requires approval by at least 75 % of the member bodies casting a vote.

1 Scope
This International Standard sets out the requirements and/or measures to remove the hazards and limit the
risk on work holding chucks which are defined in 3.1.
It covers all the hazards relevant to this component, as listed in Clause 4.
The requirements concern designers, manufacturers, suppliers and importers of work holding chucks.
It also includes information which the manufacturer shall provide for the user.
It is primarily directed to components which are manufactured after its date of issue.
