BRIEF HISTORY
The IS0 Recommendation R 1121, List of characteristics which may be required of conveyor belts
according to their use, was drawn up by Technical Committee ISO/TC 41, Pulleys and belts (including V-belts),
the Secretariat of which is held by the Association Française de Normalisation (AFNOR).
Work on this question led to the adoption of a Draft IS0 Recommendation.
In August 1968, this Draft IS0 Recommendation (No. 1669) was circulated to all the IS0 Member Bodies
for enquiry. It was approved, subject to a few modifications of an editorial nature, by the following Member
Bodies :

HISTORIQUE
La Recommandation ISO/R 1 12 1, Répertoire des caractéristiques pouvant être exigées des courroies trans-
porteuses en fonction de leurs différentes utilisations, a été élaborée par le Comité Technique ISO/TC 41, Poulies
et courroies (y compris les courroies trapézoïdales), dont le Secrétariat est assuré par l’Association Française de
Normalisation (AFNOR).
Les travaux relatifs à cette question aboutirent à l’adoption d‘un Projet de Recommandation ISO.
En août 1968, ce Projet de Recommandation IS0 (NO 1669) fut soumis à l’enquête de tous les Comités
Membres de I’ISO. I1 fut approuvé, sous réserve de quelques modifications d’ordre rédactionnel, par les Comités
Membres suivants :

Allemagne France R.A.U.
Australie Grèce Suède
Au triche Inde Suisse
Belgique Israël Tchécoslovaquie
Corée, Rép. de Italie Thaïlande

Deux Comités Membres se déclarèrent opposés à l’approbation du Projet :

U.S.A.
Le Projet de Recommandation IS0 fut alors soumis par correspondance au Conseil de I’ISO qui décida, en
septembre 1969, de l’accepter comme RECOMMANDATION ISO.
