This European Standard specifies the requirements for cast iron globe valves in straight, angle or oblique pattern with flanged or threaded end connections. This standard applies to cast iron globe valves mainly used for industrial and general purpose applications. However they can be used for other applications provided the requirements of the relevant performance standards are met.

Diese Europäische Norm legt die Anforderungen fest für Ventile aus gußeisen in Durchgangsform, Eck- oder Schrägsitzform mit Flansch- oder Gewindeanschlüssen. Diese Norm ist anwendbar für Ventile aus Gußeisen, die vorwiegend für industrielle und allgemeine Anwendungen verwendet werden. Sie kann jedoch auch für andere Anwendungen verwendet werden, unter der Voraussetzung, daß die Anforderungen der dafür geltenden Gebrauchstauglichkeitsnormen erfüllt sind.

La présente Norme européenne spécifie les prescriptions des robinets a soupape en fonte, a tete droite, a tete inclinée ou a corps d'équerre, a extrémités a brides, ou filetées (voir EN 736-2).
La présente Norme européenne s'applique aux robinets a soupape en fonte utilisés principalement pour des applications a des fins industrielles et générales. Toutefois ils peuvent etre utilisés pour d'autres applications sous réserve que les exigences des Normes appropriées de performance soient satisfaites.
La gamme des diametres nominaux couverts est:
a) extrémités a brides :
DN 10; DN 15; DN 20; DN 25; DN 32; DN 40; DN 50; DN 65; DN 80; DN 100; DN 125; DN 150 ;
DN 200; DN 250; DN 300; DN 350; DN 400.
b) extrémités filetées :
1, 3, 1, 1 1, 1 1, 2.
La gamme des pressions nominales couvertes est :
a) pour les appareils de robinetterie a extrémités a brides :
PN 6; PN 10; PN 16; PN 25; PN 40 ;
b) pour les appareils de robinetterie a extrémités filetées :
