This document establishes the reference dictionary of the general description of low-voltage
switchgear and controlgear classes based on defined properties.
This dictionary is used to facilitate the exchange in electronic format of data describing lowvoltage
switchgear and controlgear.
This document provides clear and unambiguous definitions of a limited number of properties
and classes which are mainly used for presentation, selection and identification of products
particularly in electronic catalogues.
Each property has an unambiguously defined meaning and naming, and, where relevant, a
defined value list, a defined format and a defined unit.
The intention is not to cover manufacturer-specific features.

IEC 62683-1:2017 définit le dictionnaire de référence pour la description générale des appareillages à basse tension basée sur des propriétés définies. Ce dictionnaire est utilisé pour faciliter l’échange sous format électronique de données décrivant les appareillages à basse tension. Le présent document propose des définitions claires et sans équivoque d’un certain nombre de classes et de propriétés permettant notamment de présenter, de sélectionner et d’identifier des produits, en particulier dans les catalogues électroniques. Chaque propriété a une signification et une appellation définies sans ambiguïté et le cas échéant, un domaine de valeur défini, un format défini et une unité définie. L’objectif n’est pas de traiter de fonctions spécifiques aux fabricants.

Ta dokument podaja jasne in nedvoumne definicije omejenega števila lastnosti in razredov, ki se običajno uporabljajo za predstavitev, izbiro in identifikacijo izdelkov, še posebej v elektronskih katalogih.
Vsaka lastnost ima nedvoumno opredeljen pomen in poimenovanje ter opredeljen vrednostni seznam, opredeljeno obliko in opredeljeno enoto (kjer je ustrezno).

"Low-voltage switchgear and controlgear" of IEC/TC 121 "Switchgear and controlgear and their

assemblies for low voltage" was submitted to the IEC-CENELEC parallel vote and approved by

CENELEC as EN 62683-1:2017.
The following dates are fixed:
• latest date by which the document has to be implemented at (dop) 2018-05-16
national level by publication of an identical national
standard or by endorsement
