Agricultural machinery - Manure spreaders - Environmental protection - Requirements and test methods

This European standard specifies requirements for the environmental preservation and their verification for design and construction of manure spreaders for spreading manure in agriculture and horticulture. It specifies requirements for the transverse and longitudinal spreading characteristics such as acceptable working widths, steady flow, the stretch within the tolerance zone and the coefficient of variation for the longitudinal spreading.  These requirements are limited to the evaluation of spreaders tested with manure as specified in table A.1. This standard is not applicable to manure band-spreaders or to sludge spreaders.

Landmaschinen - Stalldungstreuer - Umweltschutz - Anforderungen und Prüfmethoden

Diese Europäische Norm enthält Prüfmethoden und Anforderungen für die Bauart und Konstruktion von Stalldungstreuern für die Verteilung von Stalldung in Landwirtschaft und Gartenbau im Hinblick auf die Herabsetzung von Umweltschäden.
Die Norm legt Anforderungen an Ausbringcharakteristika bei Quer- und Längsverteilung fest, z.B. Arbeitsbreiten, charakteristische Ausbringmenge, charakteristische Durchflussmenge, Streckung innerhalb der Toleranzzone und Variationskoeffizient für die Längsverteilung.
Diese Anforderungen sind begrenzt auf die Beurteilung von Stalldungstreuern, die mit Stalldung nach Anhang A Tabelle A.1 geprüft werden.
Diese Norm gilt nicht für Stalldung-Bandstreuer oder Klärschlammverteiler.
ANMERKUNG   Klärschlammverteiler können in einer späteren Überarbeitung behandelt werden, wenn ausreichend Daten zur Verfügung stehen, um ihre Klasseneinteilung festzulegen und die Grenzen für die Anforderungen an die Maschinen zu setzen.
Aspekte des persönlichen Schutzes sind in dieser Norm nicht behandelt. Diese werden in EN 690 behandelt.

La présente norme européenne détermine les prescriptions relatives à la protection de l'environnement et les vérifications pour la conception et la construction des épandeurs de fumier destinés à l'épandage de fumier en agriculture et en horticulture.  Elle détermine des prescriptions relatives aux caractéristiques d'épandage dans les directions transversale et longitudinale, telles que largeurs de travail acceptables, débit constant, l'étendue dans la zone de tolérance et le coefficient de variation pour l'épandage longitudinal.

EN 13080:2002 (CEN) - "Agricultural machinery - Manure spreaders - Environmental protection - Requirements and test methods" defines requirements and standardized test methods to verify the environmental performance of manure spreaders used in agriculture and horticulture. The standard aims to ensure consistent spreading accuracy and minimize unintended environmental impact (e.g., spreading outside the target area). It applies to machines tested with manure as defined in the standard and excludes manure band-spreaders and sludge spreaders.

• Transverse distribution (side-to-side)

  • Working width: machine must provide at least one working width where the coefficient of variation (CV) is < 30% and the width is ≥ half the throwing width (but at least the machine frame width).

• Longitudinal distribution (along the travel direction)

  • Characteristic application rate: machines must cover at least 1 to 4 kg/m² (10–40 t/ha) unless manufacturer specifies otherwise.
  • Tolerance zone: flows within ±15% of the characteristic flow.
  • Stretch within tolerance: momentary flows must be inside tolerance for > 35% of unloading time.
  • Coefficient of variation: longitudinal CV must be < 40% (calculated before overlapping).
  • Optimum overlap: specified in the instruction handbook and determined for 3 km/h and 8 km/h.

• Test methods and measurement

  • Manure characterization and physical property tests are in Annex A (normative); manure classes selected per Table 1.
  • Transverse containers: 500 × 500 mm, depth ≥ 100 mm; wind ≤ 3 m/s during tests.
  • Weighing accuracy: ±10 g or ±0.5% (whichever larger); machine mass registration for flow: ±10 kg or ±0.5%.
  • Data sampling: recommended 2 Hz; filtering using an IIR Butterworth filter order 5 (Annex B gives filtering example).
