This European Standard contains co-ordinating sizes for kitchen furniture including worktops as well as for kitchen appliances, sinks and decorative panels. For convenience, in this standard the terms "furniture" and "appliance" are used for "kitchen furniture" and "kitchen appliance". It defines dimensions for the height, the width, the depth and the space to enable furniture, appliances, sinks and decorative panels to fit together as elements of kitchen equipment. This European Standard does not apply to catering equipment.

iese Europäische Norm legt Koordinationsmaße für Küchenmöbel, Arbeitsplatten, Nischenverkleidungen, Möbelfronten und Dekorplatten sowie für Küchengeräte (weiße Ware und Öfen) und andere Einbauelemente, z. B. Einbauspülen, (kurz "Geräte"), fest.
Sie legt Maße für Höhen, Breiten, Tiefen und Abstände fest, um Geräte in die Küchenmöbel zu integrieren.
Diese Europäische Norm gilt nicht für gewerblich genutzte Küchen (z. B. in Hotels und Restaurants).

La présente Norme européenne spécifie les dimensions de coordination pour les meubles de cuisine, les plans de travail, les panneaux décoratifs, les façades de meubles et les plaques d'habillage, ainsi que pour les appareils ménagers (gros appareils électroménagers et fours) et les éléments d'équipement tels que les blocs-éviers (désignés par le terme abrégé "appareils").
La présente Norme européenne spécifie des valeurs de hauteur, de largeur, de profondeur et l'espace libre nécessaires à l'intégration d'appareils dans des meubles de cuisine.
Elle n'est pas applicable aux cuisines utilisées à des fins commerciales (par exemple, dans des hôtels ou des restaurants).

Ta evropski standard vključuje koordinacijske mere za kuhinjsko pohištvo, vključno z delovnimi površinami, kot tudi za kuhinjske aparate, korita in okrasne plošče. Za lažjo uporabo sta v tem standardu izraza »pohištvo« in »aparat« uporabljena za »kuhinjsko pohištvo« in »kuhinjski aparat«. EN 1116:2018 (E) 3 European foreword This document (EN 1116:2018) has been prepared by Technical Committee CEN/TC 207 “Furniture”, the secretariat of which is held by UNI. This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an identical text or by endorsement, at the latest by July 2018, and conflicting national standards shall be withdrawn at the latest by July 2018. Attention is drawn to the possibility that some of the elements of this document may be the subject of patent rights. CEN shall not be held responsible for identifying any or all such patent rights. This document supersedes EN 1116:2004. Compared to EN 1116:2004 the following changes were made: a) new terms and definitions and new figures added; b) content technically revised. EN 1116:2018 (E) 4 1 Scope This European Standard specifies co-ordinating sizes for kitchen units, worktops, recess panelling, furniture fronts and decorative panels as well as for kitchen appliances (white goods and ovens) and further installation elements, e.g. sinks (abbreviated as "appliances"). It specifies dimensions for the height, the width, the depth and the space to integrate appliances in kitchen units. 1 Scope
This European Standard specifies co-ordinating sizes for kitchen units, worktops, recess panelling,
furniture fronts and decorative panels as well as for kitchen appliances (white goods and ovens) and
further installation elements, e.g. sinks (abbreviated as “appliances”).
It specifies dimensions for the height, the width, the depth and the space to integrate appliances in
