Specification for dedicated liquefied petroleum gas appliances - Multi purpose boiling burners for outdoor use

This standard specifies the constructional and performance characteristics, safety specifications and rational use of energy, relevant test methods and marking of boiling burners burning liquefied petroleum gas and designed to heat up vessels containing liquids or food, or a heating plate. They are referred to in the body of the text as "appliances".  This standard covers appliances, generally floor standing, fitted with one or several burners with a total heat input not exceeding 14 kW, designed to be used outdoors and operating with the gases indicated in 4.1 according to the categories indicated in 4.2.  Appliances supplied with third family gas at pressures greater those defined in 4.2 are outside the field of application of this standard.  Appliances covered by this standard are not connected to a flue for the products of combustion and are not connected to the mains electrical supply.  Appliances with a nominal heat input below 1,16 kW and appliances which are not designed to receive the test vessel described in 7.1.4 in any of their configurations are not subject to any requirement concerning the rational use of energy.   This standard applies only to type testing.

This European Standard specifies the special constructional and operational characteristics, as well as the requirements and methods of test for safety and marking, for domestic cooking appliances having forced-convection ovens and /or grills using combustible gases, as defined in EN 30-1-1:2008+A2:2010.
Unless specifically excluded, this European Standard applies to appliances or their component parts, whether the component parts are independent or incorporated as part of the appliance, even if the other heating components use electrical energy (for example combined gas-electric cookers).
This European Standard includes requirements covering the electrical safety of equipment incorporated in the appliance that are associated with the use of gas. It does not include requirements covering the electric safety of electrically-heated components or their associated equipment1).

- outdoor appliances;
- appliances connected to a combustion products evacuation duct;

of EN 30-1-1:2008+A2:2010, 5.2.8.2.2;
- appliances incorporating flame supervision devices and having an automatic ignition device for which the duration of the ignition attempt is limited by design;
- appliances equipped with a burner that is periodically ignited and extinguished under the control of an automatic on/off device;
- appliances equipped with a burner having a fan for the supply of combustion air or for the evacuation of the products of combustion;
- appliances supplied at pressures greater than those defined in EN 30-1-1:2008+A2:2010, 7.1.2;
- appliances equipped with an oven and/or with a grill having a fan either for the supply of combustion air or for the evacuation of the products of combustion;
- appliances equipped with a compartment in which a burner and an electric heating element can function simultaneously;
- appliances having one or more burners that are capable of remote operation (type 1 or type 2), unless the burner(s) concerned are thermostatically controlled oven burners of time-controlled ovens that are designed for a delayed start without the user being present.
This European Standard does not cover the requirements relating to third family gas cylinders, their regulators and their connection.
This European Standard only covers type testing.

The specific requirements are given in Part 2.
Only appliances of types A1, A2, A3, B1 and B2, as defined in Clause 4, are considered in this European Standard.
This European Standard applies to all professional cooking and bakery appliances using gas for preparing food and drink.
Only the net calorific value (Hi) and net Wobbe number (Wi) are used.
Annex C, informative, lists the main types of equipment entering into the field of application of this European Standard.
NOTE: For appliances intended to be used in vehicles, in carriages or on board ships, additional requirements may be necessary

This European Standard specifies the construction and performance characteristics as well as the requirements and methods of test for the safety and marking of freestanding and built-in domestic cooking appliances burning the combustible gases given in 4.1 according to the categories specified in 4.2, referred to in the text as "appliances". This European Standard covers the following types of domestic cooking appliances, as defined in Clause 3, and belonging to the classes defined in 4.3 (see Table 1): - independent freestanding hotplates; - independent built-in hotplates; - independent hotplates and grills; - table cookers; - freestanding ovens; - built-in ovens; - freestanding or built-in grills; - griddles; - freestanding cookers; - built-in cookers. Unless specifically excluded hereafter, this European Standard applies to these appliances or their component parts, whether or not the component parts are independent or incorporated into a single appliance, even if the other heating components of the appliance use electrical energy (e.g. combined gas-electric cookers).
