This document specifies a method using a shear test apparatus for measuring the in-plane shear stress/shear strain response, shear modulus and shear strength of continuous-fibre-reinforced plastic composite materials with fibre orientations of 0° and 0°/90°.
This method is applicable to thermoset and thermoplastic matrix laminates made from unidirectional layers/non-woven fabrics and/or fabrics including unidirectional fabrics, with the fibres oriented at 0° and 0°/90° to the specimen axis, where the lay-up is symmetrical and balanced about the specimen mid-plane.
The method is suitable for determining shear properties in both the linear and nonlinear load-deformation range even at shear strains greater than 5 %.
Short and long fibre-reinforced plastic composites can also be tested using this document.

Dieses Dokument legt ein Verfahren zur Bestimmung der Schubspannungs-Schubverformungs-Kurve, des Schubmoduls und der Schubfestigkeit von endlosfaserverstärkten Kunststoffen mit einer Faserorientierung in 0° bzw. 0°/90° mittels einer Schubprüfvorrichtung in der Lagenebene fest.
Das Verfahren ist anwendbar auf Laminate, die aus einer thermoplastischen oder duroplastischen Grund-masse und aus unidirektionalen Lagen/Gelegen und/oder Geweben einschließlich unidirektionaler Gewebe mit einer Faserorientierung in 0° bzw. 0°/90° zur Probekörperachse bestehen. Der Laminataufbau muss symmetrisch und ausgeglichen um die Mittelebene des Probekörpers gestaltet werden.
Das Verfahren ist für die Bestimmung der Schubeigenschaften sowohl im linearen als auch im nicht-linearen Last-Verformungs-Bereich bei Schubverformungen auch über 5 % geeignet.
In Anlehnung an dieses Dokument können auch kurz- und langfaserverstärkte Kunststoffe geprüft werden.

Le présent document spécifie une méthode utilisant un appareillage d'essai de cisaillement pour mesurer la contrainte de cisaillement/déformation au cisaillement dans le plan, le module de cisaillement et la résistance au cisaillement des matériaux composites plastiques renforcés de fibres continues avec une orientation des fibres de 0° et 0°/90°.
Cette méthode est applicable aux stratifiés à matrice thermodurcie et thermoplastique constitués de couches unidirectionnelles/non-tissés et/ou tissus, y compris tissus unidirectionnels, avec les fibres orientées à 0° et 0°/90° par rapport à l'axe de l'éprouvette, dans lesquels l'assemblage est symétrique et équilibré par rapport au plan médian de l'éprouvette.
Cette méthode convient pour déterminer les propriétés de cisaillement à la fois dans la plage de déformation de la charge linéaire et non linéaire, même à des déformations au cisaillement supérieures à 5 %.

Metoda je uporabna za termoreaktivne in plastomerne matrične laminate, izdelane iz enosmernih slojev/netkanih tkanin in/ali tkanin z enosmernimi vlakni, usmerjenimi 0 ° in 0 °/90 ° na os vzorca, kjer je postavitev simetrična in uravnotežena glede na srednjo ravnino vzorca. Metoda je primerna za določanje strižnih lastnosti v linearnem in nelinearnem razponu deformacije pri obremenitvi, tudi pri strižnih deformacijah, večjih od 5 %. S pomočjo tega dokumenta je mogoče preskusiti tudi s kratkimi in dolgimi vlakni ojačene kompozitne materiale.

Introduction
The test method described in this document uses a shear frame fixture in order to introduce a pure
shear loading throughout the free area of the test specimens. The edges of the test specimens are
uniformly clamped during the test procedure avoiding fibre rotation and load re-distribution effects.
This allows for the ultimate shear strength of high shear-elongation materials to be obtained even at
shear strains higher than 5 % which is a limitation when using ISO 14129 or other standards regarding
in-plane shear test methods for fibre reinforced plastic composites.
