Office furniture - Work tables - Part 2: Safety, strength and durability requirements

This European Standard specifies safety, strength and durability requirements on work tables.
It does not apply to other tables in the office area for which EN standard exists (EN 15372).
Annex A (informative) contains a test for deflection of tables tops.

Büromöbel - Büro-Arbeitstische - Teil 2: Anforderungen an die Sicherheit, Festigkeit und Dauerhaltbarkeit

Diese Europäische Norm legt Anforderungen an die Sicherheit, Festigkeit und Dauerhaltbarkeit von Arbeitstischen und Tischen für Bürotätigkeiten in sitzender, stehsitzender oder stehender Position fest.
Sie gilt nicht für andere Tische im Bürobereich, die durch EN 15372 abgedeckt sind.
Anhang A (informativ) enthält eine Prüfung zur Durchbiegung von Tischplatten.
Anhang B (informativ) enthält ein Beispiel zur Berechnung der Steifigkeit der Konstruktion.

La présente Norme européenne prescrit les exigences de sécurité, de résistance et de durabilité relatives aux tables de travail de bureau ainsi qu’aux tables pour les tâches de bureau pouvant être effectuées en position assise, debout ou par le biais de dispositifs assis-debout.
Elle ne s'applique pas aux autres tables dans l’environnement du bureau, lesquelles sont couvertes par l’EN 15372.
L’Annexe A (informative) contient un essai de déformation des plateaux de tables.
L’Annexe B (informative) contient un exemple de calcul de résistance de la structure.

Ta evropski standard določa zahteve za varnost, trdnost in trajnost delovnih miz.
Ne uporablja se za druge mize v pisarnah, za katere je na voljo drug standard EN (EN 15372).
Dodatek A (informativni) vsebuje preskus upogibnosti zgornjih delov miz.

This document (EN 527-2:2016+A1:2019) has been prepared by Technical Committee CEN/TC 207
“Furniture”, the secretariat of which is held by UNI.
This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an
identical text or by endorsement, at the latest by November 2019, and conflicting national standards
shall be withdrawn at the latest by November 2019.
Attention is drawn to the possibility that some of the elements of this document may be the subject of
patent rights. CEN shall not be held responsible for identifying any or all such patent rights.
This document includes Amendment 1 approved by CEN on 1 March 2019.

Compared to the previous version, modifications are:
— Test sequence and parameters are included, according to tests in EN 1730:2012 instead of
EN 527-3:2003, which will be withdrawn;
— Suppression of A-deviation;
— Addition of an Annex B (informative) for an example of calculation for stiffness of the structure.

1 Scope
This European Standard specifies safety, strength and durability requirements for work tables and
desks for office tasks to be undertaken in a seated, a sit-stand or standing position.
It does not apply to other tables in the office area, which are covered by EN 15372.
Annex A (informative) contains a test for the deflection of tables tops.
Annex B (informative) contains an example of calculation of the stiffness of the structure.
