Textiles - Test methods for nonwovens - Part 13: Repeated liquid strike-through time (ISO 9073-13:2006)

This part of ISO 9073 specifies a test method for measuring the strike-through time (STT) for each of three subsequent doses of liquid (simulated urine) applied to the surface of a test piece of nonwoven coverstock. The STT is defined as the time taken for a known volume of liquid to pass through the nonwoven that is in contact with an underlying dry standard absorbent pad. This test method is intended for quality control and is designed for comparison of STT for different nonwoven coverstocks. It does not simulate in-use conditions for finished products.

Dieser Teil der ISO 9073 legt ein Prüfverfahren zur Messung der Durchdringzeit (STT, en: strike through time) für jede von drei aufeinander folgenden Dosen von Flüssigkeit (simulierter Urin) fest, die auf die Oberfläche einer Messprobe einer Vliesstoff Auflage aufgebracht werden. Die STT ist als die Zeit definiert, die ein bekanntes Flüssigkeitsvolumen benötigt, um durch den Vliesstoff hindurchzugehen, der sich mit einer darunter liegenden trockenen saugfähigen Normunterlage in Kontakt befindet.
Dieses Prüfverfahren ist für die Qualitätskontrolle vorgesehen und für den Vergleich der STT für verschiedene Vliesstoff Auflagen ausgelegt. Es simuliert keine Einsatzbedingungen für Endprodukte.

L'ISO 9073-13:2006 spécifie une méthode d'essai permettant de mesurer le temps de transpercement (TT) de trois quantités de liquide (urine artificielle) appliquées successivement à la surface d'une éprouvette prélevée dans une enveloppe de couche-culotte en nontissé. Le TT est défini comme le temps que met un volume connu de liquide pour s'écouler à travers un nontissé placé au-dessus d'un coussin absorbant sec normalisé et en contact direct avec lui.
La présente méthode d'essai est destinée à être utilisée dans le cadre de contrôles qualité et pour comparer le TT de différentes enveloppes de couche-culotte en nontissé. Elle ne permet pas de simuler les conditions d'utilisation des produits finis.

of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and has been taken over as EN ISO
9073-13:2007 by Technical Committee CEN/TC 248 "Textiles and textile products", the
secretariat of which is held by BSI.

This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of
an identical text or by endorsement, at the latest by August 2007, and conflicting national
standards shall be withdrawn at the latest by August 2007.

According to the CEN/CENELEC Internal Regulations, the national standards organizations of

Foreword
ISO (the International Organization for Standardization) is a worldwide federation of national standards bodies
(ISO member bodies). The work of preparing International Standards is normally carried out through ISO
technical committees. Each member body interested in a subject for which a technical committee has been
established has the right to be represented on that committee. International organizations, governmental and
non-governmental, in liaison with ISO, also take part in the work. ISO collaborates closely with the
International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) on all matters of electrotechnical standardization.
International Standards are drafted in accordance with the rules given in the ISO/IEC Directives, Part 2.
The main task of technical committees is to prepare International Standards. Draft International Standards
adopted by the technical committees are circulated to the member bodies for voting. Publication as an
